WINTER 2015

Way back in 1988, the shoe company, Nike launched a very

successful advertising campaign where they coined the slogan,

“Just Do It”. Even after all this time (almost 30 years later) it

still appears in some of their marketing. There is a very

specific reason why that is…..it’s been extremely

successful! In the first 10 yrs of when that campaign

launched, Nike’s shoe market share in North American

grew from 18% to 43% (An increase of $8.3 Billion in

worldwide revenue).

Why was it so successful? It motivated people to

shake off the excuses for not being active. By

surrounding that one simple slogan with a “you can

do it” atmosphere, Nike was able to inspire an ethos,

a culture, a process of collective thought within like-

minded individuals that resonated the mantra, “No

more excuses!”

We’d like to think that here at Aboriginal Bible Academy (ABA) we’re helping to

foster that same type of atmosphere by assisting individuals and congregations to

shake off the excuses and “Just do it!” I’m sure we all realise the ability to run a

marathon doesn’t happen over night - but it does begin with a first step. ABA can

help with that initial step (and the many steps after) in regards to the spiritual race

that we all are called to run.

Scholarships & Bursaries We’ve got some great news! We are on the verge of finalizing our scholarship &

bursary policy which we look to have in place by the end of the year.

Even as affordable as our resources already are, we still look to remove as much of

the entry barrier as possible for those key students who are serious about becoming

effectual practitioners of their faith and service to God.

Dear Friends:

It is a delight to greet you at this Christmas season. All of us are especially

blessed to know the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He came to seek

and to save those who are lost. For this reason Jesus came into the world.

The message is one of mercy and grace – God has extended the gift of

salvation to the whole world. Whoever believes can be saved. That is our

mission at Aboriginal Bible Academy (ABA), particularly to the more than

1.4 million indigenous peoples across this great land of Canada.

ABA continues to provide quality training resources to enhance the

leadership skills of students and church leaders. Global University Berean

School of the Bible studies are excellent tools, offering ministerial training

and personal discipleship.

Such ministry is possible because of your partnership! Thank you for your

faithfulness. Your prayers, words of encouragement and financial support

translate into active leadership training across this entire nation and in the

far North. Your tangible gifts to this ministry make all of this possible!

Sharing the Good News is a practical course on the important ministry of soul-

winning. Written primarily for workers in the local church, it is a how-to study of

the work of sharing the good news with the object of teaching the student how to

lead people to trust Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. It is also designed to help

the student learn how to teach personal soul-winning to others. Special emphasis is

given to the dynamic ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God in effecting

conversions.

This study will help you put what you know into words that are easy for others to

understand. Stories of how the Lord helped other believers from many walks of life

lead friends, neighbors, and even chance acquaintances to accept Christ will inspire

you to believe Him to use you as well! This is more than a course to study. It is a

book you will refer to as you encourage those you have won to win others in

ongoing evangelism.

When the student has finished this course they should be

able to:

1. Understand evangelism as the normal outcome of the

conversion experience.

2. Select specific types of evangelism to be involved in.

3. Use the Bible as a tool in evangelistic activity.

4. Appreciate the work of the Holy Spirit in evangelism.
