Set in its’ own grounds on the southern flanks of Kinder Scout,
YHA Edale is one of the highest residences in Derbyshire and, not
surprisingly, the views are outstanding. This large country house
offers a unique combination of wilderness and accessibility, with
the area offering countless pathways that crisscross out into the
surrounding hills, dales and moors. YHA Edale is a long established
Activity Centre with a team of fully qualified instructors who are
skilled at running challenging, outdoor activities. If you’re
looking for incredible adventures in the great outdoors, you’ve
found just the place!
Pre visit
Whether you’ve stayed with us before or are new to YHA, we
encourage group leaders to organise a preview visit. It’s the
perfect opportunity for you to talk to our staff, gain assistance
with completing your paperwork, and get first-hand experience of
the activities available. Plus, if you have a distance to travel,
or you want longer to explore the surrounding area, we can offer
you free overnight accommodation too.

Action Adventure (8+)Amazing adventures in the great outdoors
don’t come much better than this. Our Action Adventure packages are
designed to make the most of the natural world around us and as a
result they really take the challenges up a level.

Abseiling: Trust, courage and confidence are key as you help
your team mates descend backwards off the top of our tower
High Ropes or Jacobs Ladder: Our challenging high ropes course
is just the thing to test your balance and nerve – and the views
are magnificent too!
Weaslling: Explore rocky places as you crawl into tight
squeezes, slide through tiny gaps and pop out onto the hillside on
our weaselling adventures
Problem solving: Tackle a variety of engaging and entertaining
challenges as you sharpen y our problem solving skills
Night Hike: Follow the cross-crossing paths as you gaze at the
moon and see the stars sparkle in the night sky

3 or 4 night stays itineraries retain the same schedule for the
day of arrival and departure with duplications of day 2.

YHA bolt-on: Perfect for filling free time, and available as
half-day and full-day options, our bolt-on activities can easily be
added on to your stay. Delivered by our trained and experienced
staff, YHA bolt-ons offer challenging problem solving and team
building activities that are run on hostel grounds, meaning you
don’t need to travel anywhere.
