a)delivered a lecture on Genesis Evolution, Tracking and Intensity

Prediction & Warming dissemination mechanism for Tropical Cyclone at Administrative Training Institute, Salt Lake city Kolkata

on 06.04.2017.

b)attended the 35th

meeting of the State Level Coordination

Committee on Crop Insurance (SLCCCI) held on 07.04.17 at

Conference room Agriculture Department, Nabanna, Howrah. The

meeting chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary, Govt. of West

Bengal, Agriculture Department

c)presided over the Annual DVC Advisory Committee (Met) 2017

meeting held on 07.04.17 at Seminar Hall, RMC Kolkata from

1500hrs IST. Twenty officers from DVC Authority, CWC, Irrigation &

Water ways Department, Govt. of West Bengal, All India Radio

Doordorsan and BSNL were attended and ten officers from IMD also

participated in the meeting.

d) presided over the Pre-monsoon meeting at RMC Kolkata on

19.04.17 regarding Cyclone Warning Preparedness and

Dissemination. Officers from different organizations of Govt. of

West Bengal & Govt. of India along with Public Sector like CESC,BSNL

etc. attended the said meeting.Shri A.Chanda, Sc-E, Shri H.R.Biswas, Sc-D, Shri G.K.Das, Sc-D delivered lecture on Cyclone related topics.

e) Shri H.R.Biswas,Sc-D went on Inspection for minimum requirement of commencement of Aviation Met.Service at Burnpur Airport under UDAN Scheme of Govt. of India on 05/04/2017.

Burdwan on 26-04-2017. b)ShriG.K.Das,Sc-D presented a paper entitled ynoptic,Satellite and Thermodynamics perspectives of a Severe hailstorm over North-Eastern India on 3rd April 2017” at National Seminar organised by IMD & IMS at Kolkata on 29th April 2017. c) Dr.Sourish Bandyopadhyay, Sc-B and I/C of M.O.Port Blair attended meeting on 16-04-2017 in the situation room of Directorate of Disaster Management, A&N Administration regarding Cyclonic Storm “Maarutha”.

(v) (a).Shri B.K Mandal, Scientist “E” and Director M.C. Ranchi visited

State Bank of India, Doranda Branch, and Ranchi and had a meeting

with Bank Manager on 06-04-2017 for redressal the problem in

encashment of Demand Drafts for contingent payment.

b) Mr R. S. Sharma, Scientist-B along with higher officials of AAI

visited operational area of BirsaMunda Airport, Ranchi for site

selection along runway for installation of CWIS on 27th April.

c) Mr R. S. Sharma, Scientist-B & Mr U. Srivastawa, Met-A visited the

Deputy Manager office, BSNL, Ranchi twice in connection with

hosting of web page of MC Ranchi on 6th and 13th April 2017.

(vi) a)Shri.Anand Shankar, Sc-B and ShriSandeepKumar,Met-A

attended meeting with Principal Secretary agricultureand his

officials regarding improving the out rich ofAgro-Meteorological

Advisory to farmers on 15.04.2017.Also another meeting with Chief

Secretary regarding Drought management in Bihar on 24.04.2017.

development regarding Bias in Uniformity in rainfall data of

i. PPT. (Rainfall, its Spatial & Intensity) and NOWCAST of scheduled twelve stations and its

and City Forecast of fifteen Stations of West Bengal and its dissemination in real time basis.

ii. Collection , Preparation and Dissemination of Station wise Daily Rainfall data ,Preparation of

district wise daily rainfall statistics under daily rainfall monitoring scheme(DRMS) of three

subdivisions under its control , were sent by FAX / E-mail to :-

a) NHAC, New Delhi and DGM (Hydrology) New Delhi.

b) DDGM(WF) Pune, LRF Pune and NCC, Pune and all concerned

c) District wise weekly and monthly rainfall data were sent by E-mail to :-

Nos. Daily Local Forecast for Ranchi, Daltonganj, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Chaibasa, Deoghar, Dumka

On every Tuesday and Friday, district level ensemble forecast of NHAC downloaded from imd.gov.in website and value

added forecast along with realized weather were sent to AMFUs in this state and M.O. Port Blair(value added forecast

sent in excel format that is being downloaded from the moderated report generated by farmers portal) . Also

onlinemoderation of district level ensemble forecast for WB and A&N islands done in NeGPA (Govt. of India)software

module named as farmer’s portal. After receiving district wise advisories from eachAMFUs, CompositeEnglishBulletins

were issued on every Tuesday and Friday & Bengali Bulletin on Wednesday. The composite bulletins are uploaded in

imd.agrimet.gov.in along with value added forecast (moderated forecast) on the date of their issue for display in the

website .This unit also sends weather forecast and warnings by SMS to farmers through mKisan portal. This unit also

sends weekly Met. Departure from Normal to Agrimet, Pune.

officials of Jharkhand.

iii)Data for the month of April 2017 was prepared and sent to Hydrology Section, New Delhi through mail on 30-04-

2017.

iv)Met. Allowance bills in r/o Hydro. Met. Observatories under DRMS, IADP & AIGS Scheme for the

year, 2016 have been prepared and sent to RMC Kolkata for necessary action.

v). Sh. S.C. Mandal, Met. A. completed inspection tour of 11Nos. of DRMS/Hydromet stations located

in Bihar State under jurisdiction of M.C. Patna.

vi)Shri Sukumar Mitra, Met. A completed inspection tour of PTO Chhapra, Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Dehri-on-sone&

M.O. Gaya located in Bihar State.
