12. Progress Report on ISO Certification work.

: (1) MWO Kolkata awarded ISO 9001:2008 on 09th

July for its “QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” by M/S Certification Services Pvt. Ltd, Kolkata-700042.

(2) ACWC Kolkata: Draft finalized and tender notification is under process.

(3) MC Bhubaneswar: Under process.

13. Action taken on Minimum Government Maximum Governance.

: ACWC Kolkata: Adverse weather SMS warning are sent through mobiles to all State Govt. officials and other Disaster related officials and central Govt. Organization. MC Bhubaneswar: 1 Mobile numbers of state government Officials and other disaster related officials are sent to CWD, IMD New Delhi. SMS for adverse weather are sent through mobile to all users. 2. Daily forecast along with warning and city forecast for 16 cities are disseminated through email to all users including state authorities, electronic and print medias. 3. Now casting based on DWR products of Kolkata and Visakhapatnam and CTT of IMD site are, disseminated to all users including SRC, OSDMA, concerned collectors and both electronic and print medias..

NON-AVIATION: 1) Forecasting:-

a) Day to day, point forecasting of temperature and spatial weather forecasting and warning of severe weather parameters for 24 hrs and 48 hours over GWB, SHWB & Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Bay of Bengal and High seas of Indian Ocean under its jurisdiction and its updating in websites on real time basis and its dissemination to various Govt./ NGOs/ AIR/ TV/ Press/ Media. b) Press and Media briefing on real time basis by Director, ACWC, Kolkata / DOs, as and when requested. c) City /Tourist Forecast over different status of West Bengal.

2) Precipitation:-

Collection , Preparation and Dissemination of station wise Daily Rainfall data , Preparation of district wise rainfall data under Daily Rainfall Monitoring Scheme (DRMS) of three subdivisions under its control , were sent by FAX / E-mail to :- a) NHAC, New Delhi and DGM (Hydrology) New Delhi. b) DDGM (WF) Pune, LRF Pune and NCC, Pune and all concerned.

3) District wise weekly and monthly rainfall data were sent by E-mail to:-

a) DDGM (H) New Delhi , b) ADGM ( R ) Pune , c) Agrimet , Pune and d) DDGM(WF) Pune and all concerned . Preparation and updating of daily weather report and weekly weather report and its updating in websites on real time basis.

4) Communication:-

a) HPCS & MFI server are working satisfactorily. b) WRF model output is being utilized for forecasting point of view. Weather Reports were sent to various Govt. and NGOs and Private agencies during the month. Disastrous Weather & Extreme wx. events reports :- were sent to ADGM ( R ) / DDGM (WF) Pune and DGM ( NHAC ) New Delhi respectively upto the month of April 2015.

A. FLOOD METEOROLOGY

Daily rainfall data of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, and Daltongunge were sent to NHAC New Delhi by MC Ranchi.

Weekly Hydromet data in respect of Gangtok & Tadong sent to Agrimet, Pune regularly during the month of July 2015.

Doppler weather radar Kolkata was operated round the clock.

DWR generated raw data at 10 minutes interval was disseminated to central server, New Delhi

DWR observations were disseminated to the respective users on routine basis and uploaded to IMD New Delhi and RMC Kolkata (ACWC) websites at every 10 minutes intervals.

“X” Band Radar of M.C Ranchi is working smoothly and 60 nos of observation were taken during the month of July 2015. Doppler weather radar M.C. Patna was operated round the clock

Radiation: (i) Radiation data (Global, Diffuse, and Direct & Terrestrial) has been copied and computed for the month of March’2015 (ii) Radiation data (Global, Diffuse, Direct & Terrestrial) has been calculated for the month of July ’2015 and dispatched to ADGM (R) Pune.

(ii) Radiation data (Global, Diffuse, Direct, Terrestrial, UVA, and UVB) for the month of July ’2015 has been dispatched to O/O ADGM (R).

13. SEISMOLOGY
