From October 13 to 18, the Internal Workplace Accident Prevention Week (SIPAT) was held, promoted by the Internal Committee for Accident Prevention (CIPAT) this event makes part of the annual compulsory calendar of Brazilian legislation.

2015 edition of the event included lectures on health, blood donation and nutrition. Examples of workplace accidents were discussed in order to develop prevention actions and

procedures.

CIPA ElectionsOn November 30, 2015 it was carried

out the election for new members of CIPA (Internal Committee on Accident Prevention) for the year 2016.

CIPA aims to observe and report risk conditions in work environments and propose improvements and measures to reduce / eliminate accident risks.

For the year 2016, we had 07 new

candidatures and 02 incumbents.Elected members with the majority

of votes were respectively: Cristian Rodrigues, Carlos Ramos, Bruno Barros e Antonio Araújo.

Management shall appoint other 4 employees to the committee until the end of January, so that to enable the start of CIPA works.

The mandate of the elected members is valid for one year, with a new election in late 2016 for 2017 period.

Year End Social Event 2015Year end is time to join colleagues with whom we spend more than half of our day and, even in a

difficult year, to thank the fellowship, opportunities and achievements in 2015.

To conclude the year 2015 and make room for the good and well-deserved holiday closure, Year End social event was held on December 17 at a lunch with barbecue, music and fun.

The highlights were the participations of singer Marcio Dias and designer Shell, who did caricatures of employees.

Besides 2015, we also said goodbye to our co-worker and friend Izabel Ribeiro, Executive Secretary who at age 62 ends with sense of achievement one more stage in her life.

Bel, as she was called by her co-workers, worked at IMI Interativa for more than 14 years providing its services with great love and devotion. She was Management’s right hand and adviser of many people. She witnessed and experienced many things and now she leaves her mark in company’s history.

On behalf of everyone at IMI Interativa, we thank and congratulate her for the beautiful story here written. We wish her good health and happiness in this new stage that starts.

Audits

From 14 to 15 December we passed by the 4th audit of Lean Manufacturing and the 2nd audit of HS&E.

Some of the practices that were highlighted by the auditor of Lean Manufacturing, Randy Cuttler (IMI Precision USA), were the engagement of the entire team IMI Interativa, SSI Initiative (Smart System IMI InterAtiva) and “U” shape assembly cell.

In addition, other points contributed to greater compliance to the program, such as:

> 5S program > Work instruction > One-piece-flow concepts linked to requisition Kanban > Integrated Quality Management System > Quick access to documents and forms using SIG (Integrated Quality Management System) > Use of Poka-Yoke to achieve zero defects in delivery > SMED events resulting in quick changeover improvements > Effectiveness in Andon System > TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) > Heijunka Board

By this, we exceeded the target of 55% and reached the mark of 59% compliance.

Regarding HS&E audit, done by Amanda Garcia, the highlight was the caution of our employees by announcing traffic with horn and signals, the marking of safety strips and a good treatment to Third Parties performing some internal activity, informing and alerting them about procedures and security measures.

Improvement Plan for 2016

Action plan for 2016 is in development phase by the Lean team, it is focused on audit recommendations and internal assessment activities, such as “Gemba Walk”. The intention is, besides directing

actions, to build a solid system involving all employees.

Activities that generated meaningful results, such as working in cells seeking the concept of “one-piece-flow” will continue being developed.

Kaizen events were efficient, increasing our compliance in “Cultural Awareness” and “Quick Changeover” sections. Two other sections developed: “Error Proofing” and “Level Production” with initiatives that will remain on schedule in 2016.

For HS&E, the plan consists in conduction of trainings, such as:

> NR-10; > Lock out-Tag out; > Working at Heights and Restricted Space; > Hoist and Forklift Operation; > Fire Brigade.

Furthermore, we will end the implementation of NR-12, concerning to Machinery and Work Equipment Safety as well as doing the adjustments in racks and shelves according to our internal procedure.

On January 5, 2016 we received a courtesy visit of Lean transformation Director of IMI Hydronics Engineering - division whose performance in Lean Manufacturing program is the highest of all group companies.

During his visit, Alberto Tureikis made several comments emphasizing the collection of IMI Interativa initiatives such as a good 5S program and the new plant layout, which promotes better material flow; SQDCP scorecards (indicators in cells); 3Cs Model; U-shape cells and one-piece-flow; work instructions quality (with images) and introduction of TACT and TAKT concepts.

Tureikis also gave us some tips for improvement opportunities that are already being considered in the development of improvement plan 2016 such as material control and inventory management.

TrainingIMI Interativa promotes a week “refresher training” for commercial area

Last training of the year targeted at customers, partners and suppliers was carried out

From 5 to 8 October IMI Interativa promoted a week of training for its employees, in particular for sales and technical assistance areas.

The training aimed to instruct and update employees about the products and services of IMI Interativa suppliers and partners.

On November 11 it was held the last free training of “Butterfly Valves, Special Ball Valves and General Applications”, aimed to IMI Interativa’s customers, suppliers and partners.

The 3rd edition of the event had maximum audience, with 30 participants from various areas and engineering positions (engineers, technicians, inspectors, sellers, mechanics, operators, representatives, etc.) and a long waiting list. The training had the special participation of Hernani Paiva, of IMI Hydronic, explaining about hydrodynamic systems.

The new version retains its essential character for best experience of users regardless of access device: the layout fits the size of the users screen, whether navigation is done by computer, notebook, tablet or Smartphone.

This allows better visualization of the content according to user’s screen and his access mode.

A new menu has been created specifically for viewing and downloading our materials such as catalogues, brochures and manuals of IMI Interativa products.

The materials were separated by title / content and some are available in two or more languages, such as Brazilian Portuguese, English and Spanish.

Now the site offers a real-time service tool. In case the customer has any questions or want a quick response, he can use the online chat with one of our sellers. It is ideal for the customer to get quick answers for his doubts before the request for a quotation, for example.

To facilitate the recall of our domain and ease of access, now the customer can access our website at www.imiinterativa.com. The new address already has “IMI” next to “Interativa” - a result of the re-branding after being purchased by the IMI group. Besides that, we changed the extension “.ind.br” to “.com”, , which is the most used domain in the world and that best

suit business expansion of IMI Interativa worldwide.The old address (www.interativa.ind.br) will remain available, being automatically redirected to the new domain.

No changes were made in relation to our emails. In this sense, we continue to use the e-mail @interativa.ind.br and @imi-critical.com

For us it is extremely important to have feedback from our customers about products and services offered and provided by IMI Interativa. Customer evaluation with praise, criticism and suggestions help us to optimize and improve our services every day.

For this reason, we included in the site a specific menu for this purpose. Now, at any time of the year, the client can evaluate IMI Interativa, and not only in the purchase period or at the year end.

InterviewMeet young Carlos Ramos, responsible for IMI Interativa Technical Assistance and After-Sales

Just over 05 years and a half, Carlos Ramos began his career in IMI Interativa IMI: In “alternative high-tech geek” style, he has as hobby films and technology. He likes fiction books (especially) and is “fan” for serials and movies. He loves coffee, Rock ‘N’ Roll, beer, pubs and events with live music of the genre. Moreover, He plays football almost every week.

Carlos began his professional career when he was 18 in an adhesive labels printing company, in the warehouse area. That time he finished an Industrial Mechanics course that allowed him during his studies, an internship in quality control of engines and industrial valves assembly of a multinational company.

Upon completion of his course and internship, Carlos also came to attend a semester of Mechanical Manufacturing, but realized that the area was not exactly what he expected.

Shortly thereafter, he was called by Bruno Donizete (current external sales supervisor) to apply for a vacancy in Technical Support Department of IMI Interativa (as clerk).

Backwards and forwards, Carlos grew up in the area. Initially, he was junior clerk, then Technical Assistance assistant and currently, attending the last year of Administration, has the position of Inside Seller Jr.

Carlos is responsible for After-Sales and Customer Support, managing start-up monitoring services, training, maintenance / repair and restoration of IMI Interativa valves, IMI IMI Orton and IMI TruFlo Rona, as well as partner companies, such as Mueller Co.

Ramos is considered thoughtful, dedicated and open for learning and new experiences, characteristics that have helped him to grow professionally.

For the next years his expectation

is to complete his bachelor’s degree, possibly attend a post graduation and qualify himself increasingly to grow in the company - so that he can reach his personal goals.

On October 01 we had the visit of Lucas Barreto and Hélio Ferraz of Petrobras, that presented the theme “Study on competitiveness of national industry” to meet the demands of Petrobras.

This “study” is about the assessment of national industries of goods and services and its ability to meet the demands of the oil and gas sector over the next 20 years. In it are considered factors such as infrastructure, technology, resources and financial viability.

The visit was very positive and enabled Petrobras representatives monitor the development and improvement of IMI Interativa in recent years.

On December 28 and 29, 2015, the President of “Isolation” division of IMI Critical Engineering, Mr. Alberto Aliani, came to Brazil for a meeting with CEO Luiz Vitali and IMI Interativa leaders to discuss strategies and make plans and local actions to face the economic crisis and prepare for market opportunities.

In addition to this and other matters, IMI Interativa presented the improvements achieved during 2015, such as progress in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, as well as reducing costs and expenses, research and development of new markets.
