Year 3 - Week 11 – Reading

Task One: Think about your favourite book or a book you have finished reading recently. Your

task today is to write a new blurb.

Task Two: Read the extract from George and the Giant Tortoise. Then complete a book review on the text.

Task Three: Read the text about India. Once you have read the text, answer questions 16-20.

Task Four: Read the text on India again. Now answer questions 21-25.

Task Five: Read the text on India again. Now answer questions 26-28.

Task One: Create a blurb

Remember your blurb should be short and sweet and only give a few clues as to

what might happen. Make it interesting so everyone wants to read the book, but

don’t give too much away.

Read the extract and then use the template to complete a book review. You can print the template or use the structure to write the review on a piece of paper.

Task Three: Answer the following questions. Read the text about India again and then answer questions 16-20.

Task Four: Answer the following questions. Read the text about India again, then answer questions 21-25. Copy out the table if you are writing your answers on paper.

Task Five: Answer the following questions. Read the text all about India again, then answer questions 26-28. Copy the

questions onto your paper if you can’t print.
