How do you think the main character feels now they have started all the building work?
I think the main character will now be feeling concerned that there are more too many creatures,
not enough space and that they miss the green fields.
Too many creatures
No green fields and plants
We do
Here I think the main character is feeling alone, because there are too many people and he can’t
find his friends and he is thinking that it is really dark because of the tall buildings.
Tall buildings, can’t see the
sky.Scary and
intimidating.

create as many
adjectives as possible to
describe the pictures.
Don’t forget you can use
a thesaurus to help too.

What is it time for?Is this the
reflection of the sun? Has the sun finally come out?
He can see something happening
He’s fed up of waiting.
We do
What is it time for?
I think that the main character is looking out of the window and he can see the sun. I think this
because there is a golden reflection at the top of the
window. He thinks it’s time to go outside and play in the sunshine.
Personification is when you give an object that
is not human (and often not even alive) qualities
of a human.
Writers use personification to help describe
something. They use it to create an image in the
readers mind.
The stars danced playfully in the sky.
The printer ate the paper.
The flowers nodded their heads as the wind blew.
The ocean waves swallowed the boat.
The old chair moaned as the boy jumped on it.

of your own that
personify the house the
main character lives in.

WHO CARES FOR ME AND HOW DO THEY SHOW IT?
WALT: UNDERSTAND THE CHARACTERISTICS OF HEALTHY FAMILY LIFE
WHAT DOES LOVE AND CARE LOOK LIKE?
FAMILY LOVE IS A SPECIAL TYPE OF LOVE THAT COMES WITH ITS UNIQUE FEELINGS, BEHAVIOURS, CHALLENGES AND REWARDS.
FAMILY LOVE IS A BOND BY DEEP AFFECTIONS, RESPECT, LOYALTY AND HEALTHY ATTACHMENT.
IN A FAMILY YOU CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER, YOU MAKE SURE PEOPLE ARE LOOKED AFTER AND HAPPY. CARE IS NOT JUST ABOUT YOUR PARENTS FEEDING YOU OR BUYING YOU THINGS BUT ALSO YOU TAKING CARE OF THEM IN RETURN.
Can you think of a time you
have shown care for a family
member?
This might be something as
simple as asking how their day
was.
IT IS IMPORTANT FOR FAMILIES TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER
AND SHARE PROBLEMS, ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING THROUGH
DIFFICULT TIMES.
WHAT SHOULD FAMILIES DO WHEN GOING THROUGH DIFFICULT TIMES?
Families love and care for each
other. They are there to support you
and help you overcome difficulties.
When you share a problem you are
having, your family can act in the
correct way to help you over come
it.
WHY IS YOUR FAMILY IMPORTANT?
• CHILDREN FEEL SECURED AND LOVED WHEN THEY HAVE STRONG AND POSITIVE FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS
• POSITIVE FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS HELP FAMILIES RESOLVE CONFLICT, WORK AS A TEAM AND ENJOY EACH OTHER’S COMPANY.
• POSITIVE FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS ARE BUILT ON QUALITY TIME, COMMUNICATION, TEAMWORK AND APPRECIATION OF EACH OTHER.
SPELLINGWE ARE LEARNING…
Today we are learning how to spell ‘beautiful’
You have to be a beautiful person both inside and out. So beautiful begins with 'be a’. Then the rest us just ‘UTIFUL’

An effective sentence is one that will
have an impact on the reader.
They are used to add to imagery,
create suspense and create changes in
emotion.
ADDING IMAGERY
When we create imagery, writers use
words that will stimulate the senses. It
helps place the reader in the place or
time when something is happening.
• The old man took the handful of
dust and sifted it through his fingers.
• The starry night sky looked so
beautiful that it begged him to
linger.
• The fragrance of spring flowers
made her feel joyful.
• The creature stared in
amazement at the shining
light that was glowing
from high above the
dark city.
ADDING SUSPENSE
Writers add suspense to their writing
by using short sentences, time
limitations and adverbial phrases of
time.
• Before I could reach the exit, I could
feel something grab at my leg.
• In the middle of the night, I heard
an eerie whisper.
• I raced down the corridor.
• Would we make it before the doors
closed?
CREATING EMOTION
Writers use emotions to make you feel
what the character is experiencing. It
helps them to make fictional events
real and using emotions such as joy,
fear and grief can help you to relate.
• The horrifically accelerated rate at
which precious species are being
wiped off the face of the planet is
alarming.
• Another person was tragically
injured by the broken window.
• It felt like a lifetime before we
found the valuable jewels.
• Quietly, the creature
trudged up the stairs
carrying the extremely
heavy plant all alone,
like he was on a private
mission.

V – FIND THREE SYNONYMS FOR THE WORD LOVE.
I – HOW DO YOU THINK PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE ARE FEELING HERE?
P – CAN YOU PREDICT WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN?
E – EXPLAIN THE ROLE OF THE PERSON AT THE FRONT OF THE CEREMONY.
R – WHAT DO PEOPLE WEAR FOR WEDDINGS?
S – CAN YOU SUMMARISE THE KEY EVENTS THAT YOU KNOW HAPPEN AT A WEDDING?
WHAT IS A WEDDING?
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO A WEDDING?
WHERE WAS IT HELD?
WHO WAS THERE?
WHAT HAPPENED?
WEDDINGS
• EVERY WEDDING IS DIFFERENT. SOME ARE HELD IN A PLACE OF WORSHIP; OTHERS ARE HELD AT A HOTEL OR A LOCAL REGISTRY OFFICE.
• SOME WEDDINGS HAVE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THERE, WHILE OTHERS MIGHTHAVE LESS THAN FIVE.
• AT SOME WEDDINGS, THE BRIDE MIGHT WEAR A BIG, WHITE DRESS. AT OTHERS, THEY MAY WEAR A SUIT OR EVEN A SWIMMING COSTUME!
• AT SOME WEDDINGS, IT MAY BE A MAN AND A WOMAN MAKING A COMMITMENT TO EACH OTHER. AT OTHERS, IT COULD BE TWO WOMEN OR TWO MEN MAKING THE SAME COMMITMENT.
RELATIONSHIPS WITHIN FAMILIES
• IN SOME FAMILIES WITH TWO PARENTS, THE PARENTS ARE MARRIED.
• IN OTHERS, THE COUPLE MIGHT BE IN A RELATIONSHIP CALLED A CIVIL PARTNERSHIP.
• WHEN TWO PEOPLE WANT TO BE TOGETHER AND STAY TOGETHER, THEY MAKE A COMMITMENT TO EACH OTHER. THEY PROMISE TO LOVE AND CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER AND OFTEN THEY CELEBRATE THIS PROMISE WITH THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
• TWO PEOPLE WHO LOVE AND CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER CAN BE IN A COMMITTED RELATIONSHIP, WITHOUT BEING MARRIED OR IN A CIVIL PARTNERSHIP.
WHAT IS A MARRIAGE?
• MARRIAGE IS THE LEGALLY OR FORMALLY RECOGNISED UNION OF TWO PEOPLE AS PARTNERS IN A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP. IT IS AN AGREEMENT ENTERED INTO BY TWO PEOPLE WHO LOVE EACH OTHER. BOTH PEOPLE MUST BE HAPPY TO GET MARRIED. FORCING SOMEONE TO MARRY WHEN THEY DON’T WANT TO IS A CRIME.
• YOU CAN GET MARRIED OR FORM A CIVIL PARTNERSHIP IN ENGLAND IF YOU’RE:
• 16 OR OVER
• NOT ALREADY MARRIED OR IN A CIVIL PARTNERSHIP
• NOT CLOSELY RELATED
• 16 – 18 YEARS OLD WITH PARENTS/GUARDIANS PERMISSION
WHAT IS MARRIAGE?
• TWO PEOPLE ENTER A MARRIAGE BECAUSE THEY LOVE EACH
OTHER. A MARRIAGE IS SOMETHING TO BE TAKEN
SERIOUSLY AND IS A LIFELONG DECISION.
• MARRIAGE IS ABOUT MAKING A COMMITMENT AND
PROMISES TO EACH OTHER. A LOT OF PEOPLE CHOOSE TO
MAKE VOWS AS PART OF THEIR WEDDING CEREMONY, THESE
MAY BE RELIGIOUS/TRADITIONAL ONES WRITTEN ALREADY
OR PERSONAL ONES WRITTEN BY THE BRIDGE AND GROOM.
COMMITMENTWhat does this word
mean?
Can you think of a
time when you have
shown commitment?
The state or quality of
being dedicated to a
cause, activity, etc.
