This week we are looking at environmental sounds. What sounds can

you hear all around you? A kettle boiling, washing machine spinning,

tv on etc.

Can you make your listening ears headband and write your name on

it?

Then go on a hunt for sounds around your house or in your garden.

Make a note of these sounds on the worksheets.

characters and the setting of the story.

Remind the children of our vocab words ‘delicious’, ‘forest’, ‘skipping’.

Watch the video of Miss Peers reading the story on Tapestry and

teaching the children about the ‘signifiers’ (actions). Help your child

join in with the story to page 6 using the signifiers.

I can’t wait to see your amazing creations up-loaded onto

Tapestry !

Tuesday Maths

START BY SINGING A COUPLE OF COUNTING SONGS TOGETHER

SUCH AS ‘1,2,3,4,5 ONCE I CAUGHT A FISH ALIVE’ AND THE

GOLDILOCKS SONG FROM YESTERDAY.

We are still looking at 2d shapes. Re-cap on the shapes circle, square,

rectangle and triangle.

Use the sorting sheet from yesterday and go on a hunt around your house

to find any of these shapes. Kitchen cupboards are a good starting place.

Placemats, pringles tunes, toblerones, tissue boxes etc. When you have

found them ask your child to sort them into the correct shape pile. Let

them explore the shapes and see what is different and what is the same.

Page 11: Monday - Wansbeck Primary

Tuesday Phonics

Let’s see how well you can recognise those sounds !

You can use your special listening ears from yesterday if you like!

Follow the you tube link and make sure your child cannot see the

screen (and cheat!) Ask them to listen very carefully to the sounds.

Can they tell you what is making the sound?

Can they make that sound using their voices?
