MONDAYS

WEB DESIGN &

SPOKEN WORD

This course is designed to provide the necessary skills and training for an entry-level position in the field of Web Design. Learn to develop and maintain Web sites for the organizations web-page with regular blog postings/spoken word features.

YOUNG MOVIE MAKERS

Students In the filmmaking class will create a short motion picture. The Young Filmmakers Workshop provides a hands-on, intensive environment where young people create the world of film and build basic to advanced-level skills under the guidance of working professionals. These workshops can jump-start careers and provide portfolio-quality work for students wishing to pursue filmmaking, directing, visual design or acting professions. Whether here for professional reason or simply to have fun, students should be prepared to live and breathe the world of film in a total immersion workshop.

TUESDAYS DANCE (SALSA)

Designed for students with little or no salsa

dance experience. Students learn fundamentals

of salsa timing, rhythm, footwork, and are

introduced to dancing with a partner.

FASHION DESIGN

Learn the basics of designing a clothing line from start

to finish. The processes of concept design, fashion

show production and preparing a photo shoot.

WEDNESDAYS

PAINTING

Students who choose Painting as their concentration begin by strengthening their powers of observation while exploring the many ways through which painting can capture perception. Materials and methods are explored as relationships between form and content are developed.

MARTIAL ARTS

These lessons include etiquette, basic kicks and

punches, proper breathing, and a thorough warm-up

and stretching period. During these lessons, the

instructor is afforded the opportunity to evaluate the

student's present level of experience and physical

capability. These courses are aimed at developing self-

esteem, attention span, physical conditioning and self-

defense.

DANCE (HIP-HOP/AFRICAN)

Beginning Hip Hop is geared toward students who are beginner/advanced beginner level. Beginner Basics is for those who are new to the Hip Hop style. In this class we will lay out the basic foundations of the movement style. ****** Will Begin November 1, 2010

Explore your creativity by working on projects that

teach drawing basics and various craft projects that

can be easily mastered by our young artists.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Learn the techniques, step by step, for turning ordinary

pictures into works of art. Become knowledgeable

about cameras, lenses, and the elements that go into

creating a great photograph. Using either film or digital

capture, you will be better able to understand what you

can realistically accomplish with the equipment you

own. Learn how to upgrade and use photographic

equipment professionally. Through actual photo shoots

and critiquing, improve composition while maximizing

light and texture.
