OUR MISSION IS TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

HEAT PUMP PRINCIPLE

CARRIER.A UNITED TECHNOLOGIES COMPANY

The EU is committed to reducingts overall emissions to at least 20%

below 1990 levels by 2020, and iseady to scale up this reduction to

as much as 30% under a new global climate change agreement when other developed countries make comparable efforts. It has also set itself the target of increasing the share of renewablesin energy use to 20% and increaseenergy efficiency by 20% before 2020.

REDUCE CO2 EMISSIONS WITH ENERGYEFFICENT SOLUTIONSHeat pumps use mainly ambient air for the production of domestic heating. This source of renewable energy reduce the overall energy consumption and minimize the amount of CO2 emissions.

In recognition of our commitment to developingproducts for a safer, cleaner and less polluted planet, Carrier received the prestigious OzoneProtection Award (EPA).

HEAT PUMP

HYDRONIC MODULE SANITARY HOT WATER TANKThe hot water stored in the tank is kept in emperature using the heat generated byhe heat pump. The electrical heating is used

only whenever there is a peak request for hot water.Different tank type size are available to adapt to any domestic need. With theanti-legionella feature included the system will periodically heat over 70°C to preventbacteria formation.

FAN COILSTerminal fan coil distribute the heat or coldair in the ambient. Its fan speed can be egulated to match user personal needs.

SOLAR PANEL

RADIATORSExisting low temperature radiators can beused with heat pump heating system. The electronic control of the module keep he temperature constant avoiding heating

peaks and heat waste.

CONTROLThe user friendly interface is placed in thehydronic module. Provide triple function, nstallation parameters and setpoints,

user selectable programs and scheduledoperation, system monitoring and self check diagnosis.

SWIMMING POOL HEATERHeat pumps have spare capacity available in the intermediate season which can be used to heat aswimming pool without altering the comfort in the house. This heat exchanger is designed to recover thiscapacity.

THE IDEAL SOLUTIONXP Energy heat pump system is designed to satisfy different applications (new houses or renovation) and different conditions (one zone, two zone, sanitary hot water production).

UNDER FLOOR HEATINGWater circuit run in underfloor pipes. With this system heat energy (radiantheat and heat conduction) is diffused evenly in the indoor. Using the heatpump in cooling mode the same circuit

o cool the indoor ambient in summer period.

ULTRA PRECISE TEMPERATURE CONTROLConversely to standard thermostat that cannot avoidtemperature fluctuation. Carrier have developed and adaptive control which calculate also the inertia of the building. Its powerful software elaborate the signals coming from the sensors and adjust the operating parameters accordingly. The result is the optimal room temperature maintainedconstantly in every condition.

THE RIGHT SYSTEMThe XP Energy heat pump solution is a cost effective choice in the long run, even in the areas with low temperature in winter time. In these condition the heat pump operation, depending on the type of system installed can be: Mono-energetic or bi-valent.

THE ADVANTAGES OF THE LOW TEMPERATUREUsing low temperature emitters increases the efficiency of the system. As you can see in the graph the performance of the Heat pump (COP) is not constant. It is measured at arating point for system reference, but it increases when the temperature of the water circulating in the system is low.

Therefore by selecting a low temperature emitter like the Carrier fan coils you’ll increase the efficiency, reduce theenergy consumption and shorten the overall pay back time.

INVERTER TECHNOLOGYADVANCED SYSTEM ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENTTwo distinct electronic management logics optimiseindividual well-being with minimum energy consumption:

Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) of direct current togenerate maximum power for the compressor at start-up and in peak load conditions.

Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) of direct current optimises compressor efficiency once the preset temperature hasbeen reached, ensuring optimum comfort while savingenergy.

XP Energy hydronic module ensures a high level of comfort and energy saving.

It is designed to fit in a standard kitchen cabinet.

Its main functions is to integrate different components, including the possibility to connect solar panels.

The electronic control manage two independenttemperature zone with their own programmable temperature settings. Calculates also the thermal inertia of the house as well as the evolution of the outdoor airtemperature to create the required level of comfort.

The two zone hydro module includes a 25 liters buffer tank.

USER INTERFACE

ECOCOMFORTDC TWINROTARY COMPRESSOR

Two rotary compression cylinders, offset from each other by 180°, and a DC brushless motor with the shaft in perfect balance are used to reduce vibration and noise, even whenoperating at very low speeds.

LONG PIPE RUNS AND FLEXIBLE INSTALLATIONOutdoor units have long pipe runs (up to 70 m) and pipe elevation (30 m) therefore can be placed in the best suitable spot of your home, without affectign the systemperformance.

LOWAMBIENT PERFORMANCEFor the comfort of end-users, these heat pumps can work in extreme temperature conditions from –15 °C to 46 °C outdoor temperature.
