1 Introduction

This document describes how to configure X-Lite soft SIP phone to work with Quadro as RemoteExtension. At first be sure that you are using latest version of X-Lite SIP phone. Download the latest

version at http://www.xten.com/. Install X-Lite SIP phone on your workstation and tune up the

microphone and speakers.

2 Scenario

2.1 Requirements and Preparations

2.1.1 SoftwareMicrosoft Windows

Please Note:Be attentive with the platform version. Download the correct X-Lite version for your

platform (MS Windows).

PC, Sound Card, Microphone, Speakers

3 Configuring X-Lite as an IP Line Extension

Connect your computer to the LAN side of the Quadro if you are configuring X-Lite as an IP Line

Extension. For connecting your PC to the Quadro refer to the Installation Guide for Quadro.

Click on the Menu button (see Fig. 1). In the displayed windows select System Settings. Then select

Network.

3.1 IP Lines Configuration on the Quadro

Connect to the Quadros management site (see point 5.2 Connecting to Quadros management site),then go to Telephony->Line Settings, click on IP Line Settings. Select a line and activate it by

selecting the SIP Phone radio button (Fig. 2). Fill the Username and Password fields (for example

login:xlite, password: xlite11). Then click Save.

Please note: The username from this page must be entered as the Username and the Authorization

User on the X-Lite soft phone and the password from this page as the Password on X-Lite.

3.2 IP Lines Configuration on X-Lite

1. Disable Auto Detect IP and enter your IP Address into the Listen on IP field(you have to seteither dynamic IP received from Quadros DHCP or static IP on your PC).

2. Set Use X-NAT to Choose SIP/RTP Ports to Never.

3. Leave NAT Firewall IP empty.

4. Enter your Quadro's LAN IP address (default: 172.30.0.1) into the Out Bound SIP Proxy andPrimary DNS fields.

5. Clear Provider DNS Server, Primary STUN Server, Secondary STUN Server and NAT

Firewall IP fields.

6. Set the other values as described in Fig. 3 Click the Back button and select SIP Proxy, then

select [Default].

7. Set the Enabled field to Yes.

8. Enter your phone name (any text, for example your name) into the Display Name field.

9. Enter your Username and Authorization User as Quadros IP Line Username and

Password as Quadros IP Line password (see point4.1 IP Lines Configuration on Quadro).

10.Enter your Quadro's IP address into the Domain/Realm, SIP Proxy, Out Bound Proxy fields(y default 172.30.0.1) and close configuration menu.

Now, your X-Lite soft IP Phone will register on the Quadro as an IP Line.

Please Note:Quadros default LAN IP address is 172.30.0.1 and the default SIP listen udp port is5060. If they differ on your Quadro from the default, you should enter the correct IP address and the

correct SIP listen udp-port of your Quadro. To view the SIP Proxy UDP port see point 5.1 How to findout SIP Proxy UDP Port of the Quadro

If your LAN IP address is for example 172.30.0.50 and your SIP Proxy UDP port is 3344, you need to

enter 172.30.0.50 into the Domain/Realm field, 172.30.0.50:3344into theSIP Proxy field andinto the Out Bound Proxy field.

4 Configuring X-Lite as Remote Extension

4.1 SIP Remote Extension Settings Configuration on Quadro

Connect to Quadros management site (see point 5.2 Connecting to Quadros management site), then

go to Users->User Management and Extension Settings.

Select an extension and edit it.

On the User Management - Edit Entry page enable the SIP Remote Extension feature by checking

the Enable checkbox (Fig. 5).

Enter the Username and the Password into the corresponding fields (for example login:xlite,password: xlite11). Then click on the Save button.

Open your Internet browser and connect to Quadro's management site by entering Quadros IP address

as web URL. Enter admin login and password. Then go to Telephony->Line Settings and click on IPLine Settings. Select a line and activate it by selecting SIP Phone radio button (Fig. 4).

Please Note: The Username entered here must be used as Username and Authorization User onthe X-Lite soft phone, too, and the Password entered here as the Password on the X-Lite softphone.

You my also enable the Enable RTP proxy checkbox if needed.

4.2 SIP Remote Extension Settings Configuration on X-Lite

1. Disable Auto Detect IP and enter your IP Address into the Listen on IP field (you have to set

either dynamic IP received from Quadros DHCP or static IP on your PC.2. Set Use X-NAT to Choose SIP/RTP Ports to Never.

3. Leave NAT Firewall IP empty or ask your network administrator what has to be filled in.

4. Set the Primary DNS field to your subnet DNS server IP address (ask your network

administrator if you don't know this IP address)

5. Clear Provider DNS Server, Secondary STUN Server and NAT Firewall IP fields.

6. Also fill any STUN server name and port number (for example stun.epygi.com:3478) into the

Primary STUN Server field. Be sure that NAT is enabled on your default gateway (ask yournetwork administrator). If your computer is behind a firewall be sure that the Listen SIP Port

and Listen RTP port features are enabled by network administrator.

7. Set the other values as described in Fig. 6. Click the Back button and select SIP Proxy, thenselect [Default].

8. Set the Enabled field to Yes.

9. Enter your phone name (any text, for example your name) into the Display Name field.

10.Enter your Username and Authorization User as Quadros Username, and Password asQuadros Password (see point4.1 SIP Remote Extension Settings Configuration on Quadro).

11.Enter your Quadro's IP address into the Domain/Realm, SIP Proxy, Out Bound Proxy fieldsand close configuration menu.

Now, your X-Lite soft IP Phone will register on the Quadro as a SIP IP Line/Remote Extension.

Please note: Quadros default SIP Listen udp-port is 5060. If they differ from the default on your

Quadro, you should enter the correct IP address and the correct SIP listen udp-port of your Quadro. Toview the SIP Proxy UDP port, see point 5.1 How to find out SIP Proxy UDP Port of the Quadro.

If your WAN IP address is for example 212.30.0.50 and your SIP Proxy UDP port is 3344, you need to

enter 212.30.0.50 into the Domain/Realm fieldand 212.30.0.50:3344 into the SIP Proxy field.

5 Additional Information

5.1 How to find out SIP Proxy UDP Port of the Quadro

Connect to the Quadro management site by entering Quadros LAN IP address as web URL. Enter the

administrator login and the password. To see the SIP Proxy UDP portclick the SIP Settings menu itemof the Telephony menu.

5.2 Connecting to Quadros management site

Open your Internet browser and connect to Quadro's management site by entering Quadros IP addressas web URL. Enter admin login and password.
