World Prayer Calendar 2018-2019

Isaiah 24: 14-16 “…They cry out from the WEST concerning the majesty

of the Lord. Therefore, glorify the LORD in the EAST; The name of the

LORD, the God of Israel, in the Coastlands (islands) of the sea. From the

ends of the earth we hear songs, ‘Glory to the Righteous One…’ ”

Isaiah 43: 5-6 “from the EAST…from the WEST. I will say to the NORTH,

‘Give them up!’ And to the SOUTH, ‘Do not hold them back, bring my

sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth.’”

Notice the 7 directions that are noted in these passages in the Old

Testament concerning the need to take His Word, His Gospel: East,

West, North, South, the Islands of the sea, those afar off, the ends of

the earth. There is not a direction that we look, not a place that we can

consider that is NOT in need of the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. If

we are not ‘on mission’ then spiritually we have decommissioned

ourselves. In a world of 7 billion people, we have much to do and there

is in all reality, no place that has been reached. Even the total

populations of the world's islands are over 730 million, approximately

11% of the world's total population. From our neighborhoods to the

nations we are called to share the Gospel, take the Gospel, live the

Gospel, obey the Gospel.

Sometimes the numbers can seem to be mind-numbing and the task

overwhelming and yet as a follower of Jesus Christ there is a deep

tugging at our hearts to be part of reaching these nations. Where do we

start? We start in our heart! We start by intentionally praying for the

nations and consistently obeying the Gospel in our personal life. When

we are willing to start here, God stirs us in a way that we clearly KNOW

what we ought to do, how we ought to pray, why we ought to give, and

where we ought to go.

Our World Prayer Calendar (WPC) is designed so that we can pray for

sister churches and ministries in our associations and denomination,

thus enabling us to be more consistent in praying for ‘one another.’

Also, some 200 nations are listed here in the WPC and if used once a

week, one can pray for every nation, all 50 US states, all the churches,

pastors, and ministries in BAGBR. If one were so inclined and decided to

use this daily, then all this could be covered once per month. Such

missional praying will indeed enlarge our vision for how we see the

world that we live and increase our love for the peoples of the world.

May our praying for the nations this 2018 be a faithful and joyous

journey of faith and fervor.

A suggestion on how to use this prayer guide:

1. This guide divides the 200 nations in our world, our United

States, the churches in the BAGBR Association, and the BAGBR

ministries into 50 groups.

2. If you were to set aside one day of the week to pray for missions

we ask that you pray for these, a different grouping of four,

two/three churches of BAGBR, and one ministry and one state

each week.

3. At the end of the calendar year you will have prayed one time

for every country in the world, every one of the States of the

US, all the churches in BAGBR, and the different ministries in

BAGBR.

4. At the bottom of most pages there is space to make notes, or

write impressions that you may have as you pray and meditate.

There are maps at the back of the booklet as well, so that you

will be able to visually see where these countries are located in

our world.
