25th IKA/Culinary Olympics
Welcome to the largest, oldest and most colourful culinary compe-
tition: The history of the IKA/Culinary Olympics dates back to the
year 1900. In 2020 the international team challenge celebrates its
25th run — and the première within the framework of INTERGASTRA
in Stuttgart. The historical event in an Olympic atmosphere attracts
high-ranking specialist visitors from all over Europe, thus guaran-
teeing high media interest. This creates awareness from which you
as an exhibitor benefit greatly.
Parties and celebrations: The accompanying programme of INTERGASTRA also sets highlights in 2020 INNOVATION PRIZE, COMPETITION ARENA, Restaurant of the Future: The accompanying
programme of INTERGASTRA 2018 impressed the European audience. Also in 2020 com-
prehensive pavilions, events and evening events such as the “Night of the Stars” increase
the attractiveness of the trade fair and open up new routes to customers for exhibitors.

Party vibes, unique atmosphere and pure goosebumps:
When the spectators cheer on their national teams, the
atmosphere reaches boiling point. At the IKA/Culinary
Olympics organised by the German Association of Chefs,
culinary highlights are celebrated which stay in your
memory for a long time to come.
When the masters of the kitchen compete in competitions
such as the “Restaurant of Nations” or the “Kitchen
Battle”, there is a hint of magic in the air. At the Chef’s
Table the guests enjoy the meals between the cooking
pits of the teams. Fast, precise work and attractively
served menus ensure breathtaking moments — up to the
wild cheering of the winners.

INTERGASTRA 2018 brought together 1,422 exhibitors and 98,677
visitors on 115,000 m2 of exhibition space* — with this record result
the Stuttgart-based trade fair has exceeded all other HoReCa
industry events in the DACH region.
The leading position of INTERGASTRA is also confirmed by industry representatives.
“In 2018 the trade fair not only increased in size, but also advanced in terms of quality”,
says Fritz Engelhardt, Chairman of the German hotel and restaurant association DEHOGA
Baden-Württemberg. Exhibitors praise the “high-quality public” and the “excellent feed-
back” on their trade fair appearance — this is both an incentive and obligation for 2020.
INTERGASTRA continues its upward trend:
• One of the top 3 HoReCa trade fairs in Europe in terms of gross
exhibition space, as well as number of exhibitors and visitors*
• Wide range of industries and variety of topics
