Sales Management CommentsWell we certainly chose a challenging year to launch Transcon’s First Annual Working Girls Charolais Female Sale! Undoubtedly we would have had more consignments had Mother Nature not chosen to present road-block after road-block. However, here we are and as they say, quality over quantity!

I would like to thank the breeders who have committed and see the big picture and understand that there needs to be a Charolais female sale like this in Alberta. Why not? We’ve seen a lot of success with the template in other breeds. Traditionally inadequate marketing leadership within the breed in Alberta, has resulted in Charolais breeders leaving a lot of revenue behind by not taking advantage of the pending female market opportunities. We hope as we pursue more of a Charolais portfolio we can assist with a more lucrative economic opportunity for breeders to capitalize on. I would also like to thank the breeders that “gave it their all” until the “11th hour” and just couldn’t make it happen. Thanks for your efforts and we understand. See you here next year!

But for this year, we invite all Charolais enthusiasts to the Innisfail Auction Mart on Saturday, December 10 to support the components of Working Girls! In the event you cannot attend but may require bidding assistance/appraisals, feel free to call any of our cell phones to access our industry-leading, trusted absentee bidder services.

See you in Innisfail,

Jaymes (Jay) Good,Transcon Livestock Corp.

For further information contact any of the consignors or:

PZC BOTTOMS UP 5011 ETPOLLED 5011 21 January 2015

Selling 5 – 10 straw packages and 5 – 20 straw packages

Rarely does an opportunity like this come along to purchase semen on a calving ease herdsire with a predictable pedigree and a show winning career. Bottoms Up was born with an 85lb birth weight and has as smooth a shoulder as you can find.

Bottoms Up was a division winner at the USA National Show in Kansas City as a calf and went on to be Reserve Champion bull at the Denver Stock Show.

When we look at new herdsires we look for consistency and a dam that has a track record. Well you cannot find a cow in the Charolais breed that has done more than the 0641 cow. With many champions and high sellers like Ivory Angel at $76,000, Firegirl at $50,000 and Turton at $57,000, you know the genetics are top shelf.

We have seen many high quality offspring from Bottoms Up’s full brother Turton so we know the power is in the pedigree. Now with no more Turton semen left in Canada this is your only opportunity to select these genetics for your herd.

Bottoms Up brings more extension through his neck with superior volume and a tremendous hair coat.

If you are looking to put some heifers in the Working Girls sale next year or just need to breed some heifers at home, Bottoms Up will give you a well known pedigree that everyone demands.

Open.A HERDBULL MAKER!!! Make sure when you get to Innisfail you find this female. She is the most powerful heifer we have ever sold. You will truly travel a long ways to find a stouter made, more explosive ribbed female, than Miss Prairie Cove 628D. The SLL Miss Carlo 110T cow family goes back to the great SRL 2B cow family. SRL 2B was a very popular high production female for Loewen Charolais and Stauffer Farms. Miss Prairie Cove 628D is well made and is the kind everyone wants, the kind that make you money.

Open. This female is the kind of female that this sale is all about. She is the definition of the sale title, “Working Girl.” Miss Jasmine is going to follow in her mother’s footsteps, being a hardworking, easy keeping, no worry cow that will put bulls in the top of the bull sale pen and heifer calves in the replacement pen. We are loving the combination of Spectacular Bid on our Hank cows. It gives you lots of performance with all the maternal traits you need. Look to this girl to be a consistent producer in your herd!

On behalf of Wrangler Charolais, Sherry and I have entered ten females to this year’s Working Girls Sale that we feel will go out and complement many herds. Two are red factor Pro-Char Kraken first calf heifers that have done a super job on these Steppler Overdrive heifer calves. The six bred heifers are from the heart of the replacement pen, and are hard to let go. These heifers are bred to Wrangler Top Gun 42B, which was my high selling bull in the Wrangler Made Bull Sale 2015, or Wrangler Kingston 41C which is a Kingston/Freedom cross. These Kingston bulls are calving ease specialists.

If we can be any assistance in helping in making a decision on a purchase, please do not hesitate to call.

They are under a full vaccination program and will be Ivomec’d. If you have any questions, feel free to call us or the Transcon team, or come out to the farm and take a look through the herd.

All the best to our fellow consignors and we look forward to seeing you all on Dec. 10!

Here she is, the calf that turned heads all summer. She may very well be our best heifer. When Cody toured the farm this summer, he immediately picked her out. She’s one of the first calves out of our home raised herd sire Base Line who we think is going to do great things for the program. He passes his depth onto his calves and as you can see, she’s a powerhouse. We’re hesitant to let her go, and know that she will do amazing things for you, for years to come!

Here’s a young ET cow from the absolute top of our program. Both in phenotype & genotype, Evetta 74A is as close to the ideal Charolais female as you’ll find anywhere. This Blitz daughter is a performance female. You’ll immediately be impressed by her length of body and depth of rib as well as her muscle shape. Her sound structure, clean front end, strong top and great udder make this female the complete power package.

This is a direct daughter or our Evetta 2L cow, the most consistent female producer we’ve ever owned and the cornerstone of our breeding program. The Blitz X Evetta 2L combination has been one of the the best matings we’ve ever found. 74A has full brothers that are herdsires for Soderglen Ranching & Alton Century Farms. Full sisters have sold to Serhienko Cattle Co, Medonte Charolais & Moyer Cattle Co. Her sire, Blitz, has done an amazing job for us and has been one of the most influential sires on the Canadian Charolais scene for the past 5 years.

Evetta 74A will be at Farmfair with her powerful 2016 bull calf at side. He is one of our feature bull calves and we’re confident he’ll be a great testament to the production potential of this young cow. This is an opportunity to add an elite quality genetic package to your herd at the very beginning of her productive life. She’s the kind of cow that can immediately go into a donor program or the front pasture of any herd.

We are delighted and excited to be participating in the First Annual Working Girls Sale. Having this sale emerge late to our attention, we could only muster 3 significant working girls for this sale. Our female herd of plus 100 has impressive lineages; therefore we know that the next sale will be sprinkled with more representation. The Chomiak Charolais Purebred and Full French is a family driven operation. Every member has ownership and therefore owner-ship to responsibility is a component of every member of the Chomiak Clan. Three of our four sires were top sellers and their influence certainly has had a positive impact. The three girls at the podium are just a sample of many more on hand and your farm visit would be welcome. Our sincere best to all fellow consignors for a successful first annual Working Girls Sale.

Welcome fellow breeders and cattlemen to the Working Girls female sale!

It has been a while since we have consigned to a female sale, so it is a great honor and excitement to be asked by Transcon Livestock to be a part of this elite sale. Fellow breeders like ourselves are constantly striving to improve genetics to offer fellow cattlemen a quality product.

At Spruce View we run approximately 140 purebred and 70 commercial cows. We calve in April/May so we are a bit different than the majority of the Charolais breeders. Every spring we offer 35-40 2 year old bulls in our Northern Impact Bull Sale making us one of the largest 2 year old bull suppliers in North Central Alberta.

We are proud to offer you 4 bred heifers from the top of our herd, all AI bred to Cedardale Zeal and due to calve in late February. Best of luck to all!

Thank you from Spruce View Charolais.

Exposed April 13 to June 10 to WhiteCap Carnage 40C PMC365273.Another Sparrows Dudley daughter out a Diablo 2X female that you can see is laying down a great udder. We are fairly new Charolais breeders and I’m a firm believer that you need to start your herd with good cows. The Diablo and Dudley combination is giving us just that. Bred up late January/early February to WhiteCap Carnage 40C.
