PURPOSE & DESIRED OUTCOME: Provide an update on public health and EOC work in support of our community.

POLICY QUESTIONS FOR THE BOARD TO CONSIDER:

SUMMARY OF TOPIC: Washington County Public Health was notified of our first presumptively positive case of COVID-19 on February 28th, 2020. As of July 28, 2020, Washington County has had 2,546 cumulative positive cases, 73 presumptive cases, 22 deaths and 217 people have been hospitalized. Public Health and the EOC have been activated since March 3. Public health supported by the EOC, continues to complete contact tracing, monitor identified contacts, provide support for people in isolation and quarantine and provide recommendations based on the CDC guidance to health care providers, community partners and the general public. Our priority is limiting the spread of disease by supporting the long-term care facilities, the houseless populations and incoming migrant and seasonal farmworkers. In addition, we are working closely with our businesses, school districts, community colleges and private educational setting to prepare for safe school reopening.

Washington County Audit Committee Description: Independent oversight is critical to the effectiveness of financial statement

audits. The Audit Committee monitors audits of the County's finances, in the belief that access to knowledgeable individuals help prevent an excessive reliance on the expertise of the external auditor.

Currently, there are high priority changes occurring within cities, parks, and the struggles of affordable housing. Managing these issues requires budgets that need to be stretched to meet the needs of the communities. I hold an MBA in Finance from GFU and though I am retired, I would love the opportunity to make a difference in my community utilizing my education and the needs of the communities.

My community is very important to me. Assuring resources are being proper allocated to programs to ensure our community continues to grow in a way that supports the people who live here. Additionally help to ensure, fund are not wasted in programs that are not best for all who live in our community. I was born in Hillsboro, grew up in the city of Beaverton, and I would like to give back to help make sure the next generation gets to enjoy the childhood that I received, while improving the areas that need support.

I received a BS from University of Oregon in Biology with minors in business, Ecology, Chemistry, and Physiology. I was involved in student government and was the President of the Pre-dental society for 2 years and the Treasure for 1 year. I worked at OHSU in research and currently have am a Regional Manger for the NW. While living in Sacramento, CA, I sat on the Green Acers Home owners Association where I listened to the needs of my neighbors and helped to resolve challenges associate with a private event site and upgrades of condominium complex as part of a 3 year plan.
