Freegal Music is a free service provided to library cardholders which allows free MP3 music downloads each week. Recently, the weekly download limit was increased from three to five songs per patron each week. The Freegal website is easier than ever to use and you can now stream three hours of music a day. While streaming music, find a song you would like to keep, and click to download it to your device or add it to your playlist. For assistance setting up Freegal on your device, contact the Library.

6:00 p.m. Ivan Reitman's Draft Day stars Kevin Costner as Sonny Weaver Jr., the GM of the Cleveland Browns. On the day of the NFL Draft, general manager Sonny Weaver has the opportunity to save football in Cleveland when he trades for the number one pick. He must quickly decide what he's willing to sacrifice in pursuit of perfection as the lines between his personal and professional life become blurred on a life-changing day for a few hundred young men with dreams of playing in the NFL. 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker A golem, a jinni and the evil wizard that links them star in Wecker’s imaginative blend of Jewish and Arabic folklore. The supernatural characters are grounded by the novel’s detailed, vibrant setting in 1899 New York City, where immigrants and wealthy citizens mingle on teeming streets. This group meets once a month on Thursdays from September through June to discuss fiction, nonfiction, and classics. New members are welcome!

6:00 p.m. Starring Jon Hamm as JB Bernstein. In a last ditch effort to save his career as a sports agent, JB Bernstein concocts a scheme to find baseball's next great pitcher. Hoping to find a young cricket pitcher he can turn into a major league baseball star, JB travels to India to produce a reality show competition called "Million Dollar Arm." He discovers Dinesh and Rinku, two 18 year old boys who have no idea about playing baseball, yet have a knack for throwing a fastball. As the boys learn the finer points of baseball JB learns valuable life lessons about teamwork, commitment and what it means to be a family. Registration is required.

What to do When Disaster Strikes, presented by the American Red Cross

Synopsis - This training gives a comprehensive overview on how to prepare for both man made

and natural disasters and how to respond to and recover from them both as individuals

Back to School Mouse Bookmark ** Grades K - 2

Monday, Sept. 15

3:15 - 4:15 p.m. It's a new school year! Make a mouse bookmark and listen to some back to school stories. Registration is required. Limit 20.

DIY Lunch Bag ** Grades 3 - 6

Tuesday, Sept. 16

3:15 - 4:15 p.m. Decorate a drawstring bag to use as a snack bag for

your lunch. Listen to back to school stories. Registration is required.

Limit 20.

Toddler Time for Twos ** Mondays, Sept. 22 - Nov. 10

10:30 - 10:50 a.m. Toddler Time is a special story time for children who are 2 years old. Spend Monday mornings listening to stories that feature themes like shapes and colors, singing songs, dancing, coloring, and playing with bubbles. Toddler Time is a time to bond over stories and activities and to make new friends. Each session runs 6 – 8 weeks in length and you only have to sign up once. Children must be 2 by the first session and must be accompanied by an adult. This session of Toddler Time begins Monday, September 22 and runs through Monday, November 10. Registration is required. Limit 10.

Children’s Programs

Preschool Storytime ** 3, 4, and 5 year olds.

Tuesdays, Sept. 23 - Nov. 18

6:30 - 7:00 p.m. Listen to stories and sing songs.

Learn rhymes, finger plays, and sign language. Tell stories with puppets and the

flannel board. Each story time ends with coloring and bubbles. Children must be 3 by the first

session. This session begins Tuesday, September 23 and runs through Tuesday, November 18.

Limit 15. Registration is required.

LEGO and Game Club Grades K - 6

Wednesday, Sept. 24 &

Oct. 22

3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Build with Legos, play board games with your friends, or play on the Wii. There is something for everyone. No registration.

Trick or Treat Masks ** Grades K - 2

Monday, Oct. 20

3:15 - 4:15 p.m. Make a foam mask to wear!

Use it when you go trick or treating or just for fun.

Listen to spooky stories. Registration is required.

Limit 20.

Monster Book Marks ** Grades 3 - 6

Tuesday, Oct. 21

3:15 - 4:15 p.m. Make monster themed bookmarks and listen to spooky stories. Registration is required. Limit 20.

Summer Fun!

Charlie and Checkers Kids enjoyed the crazy fun with

Charlie the Cowboy and Checkers

the Clown. Juggling, magic and tons of laughter!

Cold-Blooded Critters Participants learned about

snakes having leg bones and

nails, toads using their eyes to swallow and much more!

OmniPresents Puppet Theatre:

Three Little Pigs

Over 60 kids and parents watched a puppet show

of the classic story of three pigs and an evil

wolf!

Science Below Zero Children explored the world

of science with hands-on

participation.

Touch a Truck At the end of June, the Library hosted

“Touch A Truck” to celebrate the opening

of this year’s children’s summer reading program. We had fire trucks, police and

race cars and ice cream! Some of the kids learned fishing skills

with free poles and tackle boxes checked out from the Library!

Duct Tape Wallets The teens got creative

with duct tape and made

some very cool wallets.
