“Be proud of who you are, but don’t lose the ability to laugh at yourself.”
Principal’s Report
They aren’t finished yet, but the students’ mosaic tiles are looking so impressive that we thought you would like to have a look! This term every child has been taking part in a mosaic project. When completed, the tiles will be used to make borders around some of our garden beds. These photos are some examples from 3/4M. Student Reports will be sent home to parents on the last day of Term 2. In them may be comments from your child’s teacher referring to ‘The Three Steps’ and ‘Is it a game?’. What are they talking about? The Three Steps (when there’s a problem): 1. Use an ‘I’ message. 2. Move away from the problem. 3. Say to a teacher “I need help!”. Is it a game?
Does it have a beginning and an end?
Does everyone understand the rules? (Have you talked about them?)
Is everyone having fun? If the answers aren’t all yes it isn’t a game! Ask your child to explain how ‘The Three Steps’ and ‘Is it a game?’ works at Wollongbar. Our Field Events Carnival is tomorrow, on the school grounds.
Family and friends are most welcome to come along and
support the students- cross your fingers for continued dry
weather!
Running late in the mornings? Even if it’s just 5 minutes, it is a
legal requirement that your child (and you if possible) present
at the Front Office to collect a white ‘Leave Pass’ to give to the
teacher. This is much less stressful for your child, and
disruptive to the class, than the teacher having to send
him/her back to the Office to get a Pass. Parents collecting
their children during school hours must first get a white ‘Leave
Pass’ from the Office, before going to the classroom. Teachers will not allow a child to
leave the class/school without one. Maths in 2/3M!

Brainstorm Production
On Monday 27th of June Brainstorm Productions will be attending our school to
perform their new show “The Protectors”.
The Protectors is a live show that gives children strategies to block bullying at
school and on the internet. It shows the connection between negative thought
patterns, negative feelings and negative behaviours. It demonstrates passive,
aggressive and assertive body language. It also explores the meaning and the importance of empathy.
Cost is $4.50 and should be returned with the permission note by 24th June.
Permission notes were sent home last week. If you have not received one, please see the Front Office.
