INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Winning at Keno: A Strategic Guide for Keno Players! Our goal is to give you asolid strategy that you can begin to use immediately to improve your chances of winning at

Keno. Let's get started!

First we must begin with a brief overview of the game. Keno is an easy game to play and is

very popular among gamblers due to its simplicity. The player chooses up to 10 numbers

between 1 and 80 (some games require the player choose a minimum of 2 numbers and some

allow the player to choose up to 15 numbers). 20 random numbers between 1 and 80 are then

chosen and the player is paid based on the number of matches the player has. The more

numbers the player gets, the higher the payout. It's that easy to play! The catch, however, is

that it's not that easy to win.

The number one reason people don't win at Keno is because they don't take a mathematical

approach to choosing numbers. Remember, Keno is a game of numbers and probabilities.

You have to play the probabilities instead of playing the numbers on the game board. The

probabilities are always in the casino's favor, however, you CAN lessen the casino's

advantage and give yourself a better chance of winning. To do this, you must use a

systematic approach to choosing your numbers. You can not rely on your lucky numbers

or your spouse's birthday. Although they may come up from time to time, you will not walk

away ahead in the long run. A mathematical approach to choosing your numbers gives youthe ability to win over and over again and systematically build your bankroll.

The following pages will give you the insight and the tools that you need to begin to profit

from the wonderful game of Keno. Enjoy this guide and good luck!

CHOOSING THE RIGHT GAME TO PLAY

As a Keno player, you have several different options to choose from when finding a Kenogame to play. The strategies in this guide were designed to work with 2 specific Keno

games...Live Keno and 20 Card Keno (a version of video Keno). You will need to play

multiple cards each game to swing the odds in your favor and maximize your opportunity to

win. Now, don't think you can just run out to the first casino with live Keno or 20 Card Keno

and strike it rich...you will still need the strategies that we will get to shortly. Beyond

choosing live Keno vs 20 Card Keno, you will still need to review the games payout schedule

to find the game that gives you a better advantage.

In general, live Keno will give you the best payouts in comparison to video Keno. You will,

however, be required to bet more per game. Typically the minimum bet in live Keno is $1 per

game. There are some casinos in Las Vegas that will let you play $0.80 per game and some as

low as $0.05 per game ($0.05 live keno will usually require you to play at least 100 games

which will still constitute a $5.00 bet). Depending on your bankroll, the strategies that are

covered in this guide may be too expensive to implement with live keno. The biggest

advantage to live Keno is that it eliminates the 20 card limitation, thus increasing the

effectiveness of these strategies.

When choosing a 20 Card Keno machine, you will want to take a look at a few of the payouts

before you sit down to play. Specifically you want to take a look at the following payouts:

3 out of 3 should pay at least 42 coins per coin bet







Do your best to avoid machines that don't meet these payout requirements. Machines that

don't meet meet or exceed these payouts give the casino a bigger advantage than they already

have. You can easily find penny, nickle, and quarter machines that meet these requirements.

Take the time to locate these machines in the casino, the benefit to you is worth it!

HOW MANY NUMBERS DO I PLAY?

This is an important step in applying strategies to win at Keno. Many people fall short ofsuccess with Keno because they are playing the wrong number of spots on their cards. The

strategies that we use vary in the number of spots we choose per card (as you will soon see).

Some of our strategies play a consistent number of spots across all cards, while others use a

range of spots. In general, we don't suggest playing less than 3 numbers on a card and no

more than 7 numbers (unless you are using the Step Down Strategy illustrated in this guide).

When playing less than 3 numbers per card the payout isn't worth the effort (payouts are

usually 15 coins or less), and playing more than 7 numbers dramatically decreases the

probability that you will win. Choosing 3 to 4 numbers on a card are a great way to extend

your playing time. They usually hit frequently and the payouts are enough to keep youplaying. The sweet spot, however, is 5 or 6 numbers on a card. This will give you a decent

payout (800 1600 coins) and give you a higher probability of winning in comparison to a 7-

spot or above. Obviously the 5-spot will have a higher probability of winning, however, a 6-

spot isn't much harder to hit and the increase in pay is worth going after. This is why a quick

review of the payout schedule (as illustrated on the previous page) is critical when choosing

which game to play since you will be focusing your efforts on 3 to 7 numbers per card. Next

we will begin to explore the strategies that we use when playing Keno. As you will see, these

strategies are different from each other, yet each one is just as effective. Before employing any

of these strategies, review each one carefully and choose the one that works best for your

style of play and the overall goal you wish to achieve. Some are designed to give youconsistent and long term play, while others are designed for bigger payouts.

STRATEGY #1 THE ANCHOR STRATEGY

The Anchor Strategy is a strategy that is designed to yield bigger payouts versus consistentwins. When playing multiple cards, such as in live Keno or 20 card Keno, successful use of

this strategy will yield multiple high dollar amount wins all at once. Let's take a look at how

to use this strategy:

To demonstrate this strategy, we will use 20 Card Keno as our game of choice. You will be

playing all 20 cards with 5 numbers chosen per card, however, YOU will only be choosing 4

numbers. Pick any 4 numbers, preferably grouped together (i.e. in a row or block). A

grouping of 4 numbers is more likely to hit versus 4 numbers spread around the game board.

These 4 numbers become your anchor. We refer to them as the anchor because they arestationary (like an anchor) and will be played on all 20 cards. Next, choose 1 more number

per card, in numerical order, beginning with the number 1 (if your anchor includes any of

these number, choose the next available number for that card). For example: Let's say our

anchor consists of the numbers 1-2-3-4. On our first card we would play the numbers 1-2-

3-4-5. Our second card would be 1-2-3-4-6. Our third card would be 1-2-3-4-7. And so on.

Do not change any of the anchor numbers from one card to the next. Ultimately, you will end

up with 20 cards with 5 numbers per card. The object is to hit all of the numbers in your

anchor thus yielding at least a 4 out of 5 on all 20 cards. Most Keno games pay 12 coins per

coin bet for a 4 out of 5 win (which will give you a minimum of 240 coins won). Here's what

makes this strategy so powerful:

Statistically, an average of 4 6 numbers between 1 and 20 come up during each game. By

hitting just your anchor numbers, you have a high probability of hitting all 5 numbers on 4 6

of your cards. At 800 coins per win (for 1 coin bet per card) you will have won 3200 4800

coins for that game. Not bad, huh? You can scale this strategy by increasing your bet per

card thus doubling, tripling, or even quadrupling your win.

You can get creative with this strategy by reducing your anchor down to 3 numbers or

increasing it to 5 numbers. Keep in mind that your payout and/or your chances of winningwill be affected.

STRATEGY #2 THE STEP DOWN STRATEGY

The Step Down Strategy is designed to add variety to your play in comparison to theprevious strategy. When playing multiple cards, such as in live Keno or 20 card Keno,

successful use of this strategy will yield consistent, small dollar amount wins while leaving

you in position for larger payouts . Let's take a look at how to use this strategy:

Again, we will use 20 card Keno to demonstrate this strategy. You will start with 2 sets of 10

numbers each. Choosing numbers close to each other works best, however, you can be

creative with the numbers you choose for this strategy. We call this the Step Down Strategy

because you will gradually step down the number of spots played on each card. Take the

first set of 10 numbers and break them down as follows:

Card 1 play all 10 numbers

Card 2 play any 9 of the 10 numbers




Card 6 play any 6 of the 10 numbers (change at least 1 number from the previous card)


Card 8 play any 5 of the 10 numbers (change at least 1 number from the previous card)

Card 9 play any 4 of the 10 numbersCard 10 play any 4 of the 10 numbers (change at least 1 number from the previous card)

For cards 11 20, take the second set of 10 numbers and repeat the step down process as

illustrated above. This will give you the ability to leverage your wins with multiple small

payouts, and also give you the ability to accelerate your wins with individual higher payouts.

You can get creative with this strategy by starting with 2 smaller groups of numbers (i.e. start

with 2 sets of 8 numbers instead of 2 sets of 10). You can also change the break down (i.e.

instead of playing all 10 numbers on the first card, you can choose to only play 9 numbers on

that card).

STRATEGY #3 THE ROUND ROBIN STRATEGY

The Round Robin Strategy is also designed to add some variety to your play, and its rewardsare all dependent on exactly how you choose to apply this strategy. When playing multiple

cards, such as in live Keno or 20 card Keno, successful use of this strategy will yield multiple,

smaller dollar amount wins while leaving you the ability to yield large wins. Let's take a look

at how to use this strategy:

This strategy is a hybrid of the previous strategies due to the fact that it plays the same

number of spots across all cards (as in the Anchor Strategy) yet it starts with a fixed set of

numbers (as in the Step Down Strategy). This strategy is one that can be used in live Keno

without having to lay out a large amount of your bankroll. Also, when playing 20 card Keno,it may not be necessary to play all 20 cards (depending on how many numbers you choose).

The application of this strategy is quite simple, but takes prior planning before going to the

casino. There are EXACT numbers that you are going to play per card within the set of

numbers you start with. This is unlike the previous strategy where you have flexibility in

what numbers you choose within the starting set of numbers.

Applying this strategy is quite simple. For illustration purposes, we will start with a set of 6

numbers. After choosing our 6 numbers, we will play EVERY possible combination of 5

numbers that can be created from the 6 that we started with. That's it. You can get creative

with this based on the number of spots you start with (i.e. all combinations of 6 out of 7 or allcombinations of 4 out of 5). You can also vary the combinations you make (i.e. all

combinations of 4 out of 6 or all combinations of 5 out of 7). It's up to you...your only

limitations are the number of cards the game allows you to play (i.e. 20 card Keno) or the

amount you are able/willing to spend (i.e. live Keno).

THE EXACT NUMBERS WE PLAY

As promised, we are going to reveal the exact numbers that we play. Here we've applied theStep Down Strategy, and we use these when playing 20 card Keno. We use 2 sets of numbers

with 9 numbers in each set. The break down is as follows:

Group 1: 7,8,9,10,20,29,30,40

Card A 7,8,9,10,20,30,40

Card B 7,8,9,20,29,30,40

There are a total of 20 cards: 4 (seven spots), 2 (six spots), 2 (five spots), 4 (four spots), and

finally 8 (three spots). Feel free to use these exact numbers, they have been very successful

for us!

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

Hopefully we have opened your eyes to the power of using a strategy when playing Keno.Remember, these are not the only profitable strategies out there. Many of our students have

used these strategies as the base to create their own. The key to it all is having a game plan in

place when you head out to the casino. Keno is a great game to play and can have it's

financial rewards as well. Here are a few things we will leave you with:

1. Play the probabilities, not the game board. Chasing numbers is not profitable

2. Have a plan, work the plan. If you fail to plan then you have planned to fail!

3. Choose a strategy that works best for achieving your goal and apply it

4. Properly manage your bankroll and always know how much you are up or down5. Don't get greedy. Walk away when you are ahead

6. NEVER play more than you can afford to LOSE

7. When the fun stops, YOU stop. Keno is gambling, and gambling can be addictive!
