commercial and community ventures promise to improve the quality of life for visitors and, if our little family of four can speak on behalf of many, residents are smiling too. We are now active members of the beautiful new YMCA facility— swimming, working out and playing in the gym together—connecting with old friends we’d never otherwise find time to catch up with. Our in-town banking and grocery shopping has become much easier as well. Investors are seeing significant returns on properties they bought in the not-too-distant past and optimism seems to be in the air in all areas. My take is that as a town we still have youthful exuberance yet we’ve been around the block long enough to be ready for strategic risk-taking. Buyers and sellers continually provide valuable feedback which lets me know what I need to continue doing and what I need to do more of. Also, my Home Hunt system is still working 24/7 to keep you informed with properties of interest as soon as they hit the market. And, because so many of you have asked for the return of the WOW newsletter, it shall be reborn! Stay tuned to TheHomeHunt.com for an on-line version as well. Thanks again for a wonderful year of real estate relationships, both new and long-term, especially to those of you who stay in touch via email, phone or just pop in for a chat. Thanks for remaining a special part of our real estate family. Looking forward to toasty toes as you rest by your fireplace over the holidays? Here are a few tips to keep the experience charming: > Use only 2 or 3 logs at a time. Avoid "roaring" fires, which create high pressure in the fireplace and add large amounts of soot and creosote to the flue. > It may be tempting to throw ad flyers into the fire but beware—some coloured inks contain lead which when burned become airborne. > In the spirit of recycling, ashes can be a good fertilizer for the garden. They are high in potassium, alkaline calcium and magnesium compounds. > Finally, here’s your best excuse to wile away the hours in front of the fire: you are being vigilant and keeping an eye on it until it’s completely out! A Lively Source of Real Estate & Community News Winter 2006/07 H appy Holidays! We’re brushing off the early snow of December to let in the fresh New Year’s air and we welcome you all—clients, friends, family—to share in our latest news and views. Starting in January, after seven years at Base Borden’s Personnel Support Agency Training Centre, my wonderful and talented wife Mary will join the Home Hunt team as our exclusive Client Care Specialist. From now on, we envision a different kind of Monday morning: instead of herding our little girls into the van for a bracing early morning drive to Base Borden in the dark of winter, it’ll be vanilla lattes by the fireplace as we plan the week ahead. We’re both very excited as we know that this means more time together and with clients. Mary’s creative and detail-oriented approach will allow me to focus my energies on what I do best: advising and negotiating for clients as they buy and sell property.
