PaulGalbraithisaninternationallyrenownedguitaristwhohasreceivedaGrammynominationforhisCDCompleteBachViolinSonatasandPartitas(Delos).HehasappearedasasoloistaroundtheworldandinNewYorkatLincolnCenterandthe92ndSt.Y.Heperformsonauniqueguitarwith8strings,onestringhigherandonestringlowerthantheusualsix.Theguitarhasanendpinthatrestsonaresonatingbox,thusamplifyingthesoundoftheinstrument.ThisfacilitateshisambitioustranscriptionsofpiecessuchastheMozartSonataonhisGuitarfest2017program.Mr.GalbraithisawinneroftheSilverMedalattheSegoviaInternationalGuitarCompetition.AndrésSegovia,whowaspresent,calledhisplaying"magnificent."HehasplayedwithsomeofthefinestorchestrasinBritainandEuropeincludingtheRoyalPhilharmonic,theChamberOrchestraofEurope,theBBC

WeattheWilliamPatersonUniversityMusicDepartmenthavebeenfortunatetohavenotonejazzguitargeniusonourfaculty,buttwo!GeneBertoncini,akathe“Segoviaofjazzguitar”isaveteranperformingartistofthestageandrecordingstudiowhohasworkedwithapantheonofjazzgreatssuchasBennyGoodman,WayneShorter,HubertLaws,PaulDesmond,TonyBennett,andLenaHorne.PaulMeyers,alsoamasteroffingerstylejazzguitar,hasappearedonstageandinthestudiowithhisownlistoftopplayersincludingKennyBarron,RonCarter,WyntonMarsalis,RufusReid,andJonHendricks.ThetwoartistswillbringthisworldofexperiencetothestageatGuitarfestwhentheyplaytogetherandassoloistsforanappearanceyouwon’twanttomiss.
