Well what a year 2016 turned out to be!After the best start to a Super League season for 16 years, injuries soon began to bite with the likes of Sam Tomkins, Tony Clubb, Joel Tomkins, Liam Farrell, Michael McIlorum and more spending much of the season on the sidelines.

It was up to the younger players to dig deep and they did exactly that as the team featured in the Grand Final for the fourth consecutive year. The resilience shown by the team and coaching staff was as impressive as it was admirable and showed that you can never write-off a Wigan team.

All involved at the Club were immensely proud of Shaun, his backroom team and fantastic squad of players on that great night at Old Trafford when they were crowned First Utility Super League champions.
