Somebody Wanted But SoRoger Wanted a pair of suede
shoes (56)But he didn’t have the money So, he tried to “snatch” Mrs. Jones
pocketbook to get the money.Then
Mrs. Jones Grabbed Roger and held him tight
But didn’t let go until she got him back to her apartment.
Roger had to go with Mrs. Jones to her apartment.
ThenMrs. Jones wanted to know why
Roger wanted the pocketbook
But Roger didn’t tell her at first So, she decided he should wash his face.
ThenRoger wanted to run away but he didn’t So he listened to Mrs. Jones talk about
how she made mistakes too.Then
Roger wanted Mrs. Jones to trust him
But “did not trust the woman not to trust him” (58).
So he sat where she could “see him out of the corner of her eye if she wanted too” (58).

So, we know little of what the poor Etruscans thought of life and death.
