We are two governors in different hemispheres of the globe, but the work we are doing to strengthen economic relations between Brazil and the United States galvanizes bridge between oceans, continents and cultures for the benefit of the two states.

Florida and Sao Paulo have much in common. We both enjoy a vibrant and colorful culture and world famous sights. Our states are two of the most multicultural in the world. Millions of people cross our borders each year to work, study and visit. We also share a commitment to development and economic growth. The state of Florida has the twenty-first largest economy while the state of São Paulo the twenty-second. It is this commitment to the growth of businesses and jobs that help our people to thrive and draws people around the world attention.

Florida a resolution to remove barriers to business and create an environment for them to grow sent a strong message to companies around the world: that they are welcome in the state. When it comes to unemployment, the Florida is walking against the national trend. Since peaked in December, unemployment fell from 12% to 10.6%.

As we work hard to encourage business, commercial and tourism investment in both Sao Paulo and Florida will have a tremendous development that will strengthen our states and expand our bridges to economic growth and prosperity for our people.

Miami is the most Latin city in USA, with large Brazilian contingent, Cubans, Colombians, Mexicans, Panamanians, Puerto Rican, Nicaraguan etc;
