Pope Francis has declared a Year of Consecrated Life which will close on the
World Day of Consecrated Life, February 2, 2016. We encourage our parish-
ioners to pray for these religious communities:
Dominican Province of St. Albert the Great • Franciscan Sisters of Christ the Divine Teacher • Apostolate for Family Consecration Catholic Corps • Dominican Sisters of the Perpetual Rosary, Milwaukee • Auxiliaries of the Blessed Sacrament, Beloit, Wisc.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
involves a series of carefully planned stages,
marked by liturgical rites in the presence of
the parish community, in which you embark
upon and join that community in a continu-
ing and deepening conversion into faith and
discipleship.
The RCIA process is divided into four
phases to help seekers, candidates or cate-
chumens in their Christian formation. Pres-
entations focus on the Catholic Church’s
teaching regarding Sacraments, liturgy, so-
cial justice, conscience formation and moral-
ity, Mary, the saints, Sacred Scripture,
prayer and much more.
We recommend that you join us if you are
an:
• Adult non-Christians and Christians from
other denominations who are considering
the possibility of becoming Catholic.
• Adult Catholics who have never received
Holy Communion or Confirmation.
• Adult Catholics who have fallen away
from the practice of the Faith and would like
to return to the sacraments.
To find out more, contact our coordinator
for religious education, Teresa Gorsage, at
636-4478 or [email protected].

the Catholic Church and possibly becoming Catholic?
T he acceptance of our bodies as God’s
gift is vital for welcoming and accept-
ing the entire world as a gift from the Father
and our common home, whereas thinking
that we enjoy absolute power over our own
bodies turns, often subtly, into thinking that
we enjoy absolute power over creation.

The U.S. bishops have called for a Fort-
night of Freedom today through July 4, a
time of prayer and action to address many
current challenges to religious liberty. This
year’s theme is “Fortnight for Freedom:
Freedom to Bear Witness.” A family-
friendly rally, sponsored by our parish Pro-
Life Ministry and Faithful Citizens, will be
Saturday, June 27, from 1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m.
on the south steps of the Indiana State-
house. It will include speakers, prayer, live
music and light refreshments. Featured
speaker is Fr. David Mary of the Franciscan
Brothers Minor in Fort Wayne.

New weekday Mass schedule to begin in July Four downtown parishes coordinate times for daily liturgies, confession
To better serve the faithful in our city, the
four downtown parishes have worked to-
gether to revise their weekday Mass and
confession schedules. The new schedules
will be implemented July 6.
As a result, Holy Rosary will gain four
parish Masses each week, and will once
again offer Masses every day of the week.
We will go from one Mass currently on
Monday and Wednesday, to two; from no
Mass currently on Tuesday, to one; and
from no Mass currently on Saturday
(except First Saturday), to one (two on
First Saturday). The full schedule is printed
to the right of this article.
Our Sunday schedule, including the
Saturday evening anticipation Mass, will
remain in its current form.
The four downtown parishes — the oth-
ers are St. John, St. Mary and SS. Peter &
Paul — are seeking to ensure that area resi-
dents and those who work downtown can
find a nearby Mass morning, noon and eve-
ning, with confession either immediately
before or after the liturgy. The schedules
for Holy Rosary and the other parishes are
on the flier inserted in this bulletin.
The coordination of schedules continues
the “Connected in the Spirit” process
which began more than two years ago.
I expect that each grouping will include in their joint planning some objectives that are common to all, such as the provision of life-long formation in our faith,
coordination of Mass schedules and support for local Catholic schools. I also hope that the partners will discover new ways to promote vocations to the priest-hood and religious …

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Participation in the Peter’s Pence Collection gives us an opportunity to be a witness of
charity to our brothers and sisters around the world. Gifts to this annual collection help
our Holy Father, Pope Francis, to support victims of war and natural disasters and others
most in need of assistance.
The Peter’s Pence Collection unites us in solidarity with the Holy Father and his works
of charity toward those who are suffering around the world. Pope Francis reminds us that
true power lies not in amassing possessions and resources for ourselves but in giving.
“We must never forget that true power, at any level, is service, whose bright summit is
upon the Cross … it means entering the logic of Jesus who kneels to wash the Apostles’
feet,” he said. Your contributions to the Peter’s Pence Collection join with the power of
Christ to give support to those in need.
Join Pope Francis and be a witness of charity throughout the world. You can participate
through your donations, prayers and outreach to spread the message of the love of Christ.
Please be generous in the Peter’s Pence Collection.
Sincerely yours in Christ the Redeemer,
Most Rev. Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R.
Archbishop of Indianapolis
H ow can we genuinely teach the importance of concern for other vul-

we fail to protect a human embryo, even when its presence is uncomfort-
able and creates difficulties? — Pope Francis, Laudato Si, June 18, 2015
