ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH WWW.ST PIUSXCHURCH.ORG

Welcome new members and

visitors to St Pius X Parish. We hope you

feel welcome and will participate in the many

activities here whether you are a regular pa-

rishioner, a seasonal resident or just visiting.

For families with babies, two quieting rooms

are available in the nave of the church, to-

ward the back. Large windows allow mothers

or fathers to continue to see and participate

in Mass, as you sooth the baby by rocking.

Childcare is located in the St. Paul Room

and is available to babies and young chil-

dren, at the 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 5:00

p.m. Sunday Masses. For children 4 to 6

years old, Children’s Church is available at

the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Children’s Church al-

lows children to hear the Word of God in a

way that their hearts can understand, so that

they too can grow in their faith.

Please ask a greeter for help in locating

these areas, as well as restrooms, water

fountains, or other areas of interest in our

church. We are so glad you have come!

St. Pius X Catholic Church will be offering a six week program beginning Monday January 8 - Febru-ary 12 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at St. Pius X Church in the Annex Building in Conference Room B. “Who among you if he has a hundred sheep and loses one of them does not leave the ninety-nine in the wasteland and follow the lost one until he finds it… I tell you there will likewise be more joy in heav-en over one repentant sinner than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need to repent.” Luke 15:4-7 Catholics Returning Home (CRH) is a six week sup-port program assisting Catholics to return to the active practice of their Faith. “Come to me all you who are weary and find life burdensome and I will refresh you.” Matthew 11:28 Catholics Returning Home provides a positive con-text for inactive Catholics to hear this personal call. Coming home to this personal relationship with God through the Church is a challenging step for most people who have been inactive for any period of years. Essentially, this program provides a welcoming space for Catholics who have not been connected to

a faith community where: + Their stories of pain and hurt can be told + They can be helped to feel comfortable participat-ing in the worshiping Community + Their concerns and questions can be met or di-rected to the appropriate people + They feel accepted The program is a key tool for parishes in their plan-ning for evangelization. Its simplicity, attractiveness and solid content have enabled parishes to be very effective in attracting inactive Catholics back to the Church. It’s practical, it’s workable and it’s effective. “In the name of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, I wish to make an appeal – an appeal to Catholics throughout the world…especially to those who for one reason or another are separated from the practice of their faith. Christ is seeking you out and inviting you back to the community of faith.” St John Paul II To Register or for more information:

T his Christmas, l i k e e v e r y

Christmas in our parish, we honored the season with gifts of prayer, song, worship and service. Through the work of the Mission Club, 34 families were provided with good food for the Christmas holidays, and 44 fami-lies were blessed with gifts to open on Christ-mas day. The Food Drive began in November when paper bags were made availa-ble after all Masses. Parishioners returned filled donation bags.

Simultaneously, The Giving Tree program began, and parishioners who picked a tag from the tree purchased gifts for the person selected. Each present was beautifully wrapped and returned to the Parish Office. Just a few days before Christmas, members of the Mission Club, along with volunteers, sorted the gifts and made sure each person in need was remembered. The food was sorted and boxes were filled. All of the food and gifts were packed into cars, trucks and even a trailer, and delivered to families in need. We honored the birth of our Lord, in the service of others, with joy, laughter and love just as our Lord gave His most precious gift to us when He was born on Christmas day.
