The Roman Baths is delighted to be taking part in the Minerva’s Owls sculpture trail around the city. We’ll even have a decorated sculpture on site! Did you know the Roman goddess Minerva was worshipped at the Temple and her animal symbol was a wise owl? minervasowls.org

Roman Britain: a Tale of Two British Queens with George Sharpley

Paper Bag Slogans

Slogans on t-shirts, like our Dress of the Year 2017, have been used to make statements in fashion for decades. Design a paper bag with a cool modern slogan using Sharpie pens and sequins.

Bespoke Embroidery: Inspired by Queen Mary’s Evening Dress
Saturday 18 August, 10am-4pm
Create a piece of embroidery which replicates the use of beads and sequins to give a stunning effect with Royal School of Needlework tutor Deborah Wilding.
All workshop tickets £80, plus £30 for materials payable in cash on the day. Book at www.royal-needlework.org.uk/courses.
Classes and workshops are held in the Study Facilities. All attendees need to be comfortable climbing two flights of stairs.

Something Exciting is Happening...
In 2019 we will reveal more of the Roman site to the public for the very first time. In addition, our new state-of-the art Learning Centre at the Roman Baths will inspire the next generation of archaeologists through hands-on activities. A new World Heritage Centre for Bath will unlock the city’s rich history for everyone.
