So you would like to start your own business or alternatively you would like to engage the services of an Indigenous business?

This workshop will provide opportunity for discussion on effective models of Indigenous business engagement, capacity building and support as well as addressing barriers to Indigenous business development.

Come along and meet the Regional Coordinators for the Memorandum of Understanding on Indigenous Employment & Enterprise Development and talk through some practical strategies on how to better connect industry and government support services with Indigenous businesses.

1.30pm–3.00pm

andrew Johnson | RSM Bird Cameron

Do you have a problem that keeps you up at night?

Wouldn't it be great to have direct access to an expert strategist who can give you a solution on the spot or at the very least send you in the right direction? The idea of this workshop is to explore business issues that are important to you the business owner but hopefully from another angle so that you can change your views and solve the issues that are confronting the business.

Please bring those business issues and be prepared to discuss them with the group. Andrew will also work through a profit improvement workshop should there not be enough questions.

3.30pm–5.00pm

David evans | Westpac

With increasing revenue streams for Indigenous communities as a result of Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs) with Native Title Traditional Owners, financial institutions need to think differently about their product and services offered to Indigenous organisations and their communities. Providing mainstream “off the shelf” financial solutions are no longer considered good enough in making a significant difference to Indigenous economic capacity building. This workshop will discuss the challenges around providing Indigenous banking solutions and explore financial initiatives going forward for Indigenous organisations and their communities.
