It is a period of a person’s life when they are children, between the infancy and adolescence.

Childhood consists of two stages: preoperational stage and concrete operational stage. In developmental psychology, childhood is divided up into the developmental stages oftoddlerhood (learning to walk), early childhood (play age), middle childhood (school age), and adolescence (puberty through post-puberty). Various childhood factors could affect a person's attitude formation.

Child’s development:It refers to the biological, psychological and emotional changes that occur in human beings between birth and the end of adolescence, as the individual progresses from dependency to increasing autonomy.

Some age-related development periods and examples of defined intervals are: newborn (ages 0–4 weeks); infant (ages 4 weeks – 1 year); toddler (ages 1–3 years); preschooler (ages 4–6 years); school-aged child (ages 6–13 years); adolescent (ages 13–19).

The optimal development of children is considered vital to society and so it is important to understand the social, cognitive, emotional, and educational development of children.

Reflection:

The development of a child is really important, because they learn how to do certain things just by putting them in practice and having new experiences.

Parents are one of the most important factors for this stage. They have to motivate children and help them to acquire important stuff.
