Increasing Clock Speed

Every time CPU unit cable is charged. Thiswork is called clock cycle. One clock cycle

is for CPU Command.

At least two clock cycle required to CPUso that it can work on every command.

Maximum cycles which computer can

control is called Processor Speed. 1 Hz = 1 Cycle per second.

1MHz= 1 Million cycles per second.

Lots of un-needed files take up valuable disk spaceand slow down your computer. To function at itsbest, your computers hard drive should be clean

and Defragmented about once a month.1. We will check for removable files with the find

program.

Go to Start, Find>, Files or Folders

in the named box type *.tmp and click the find nowbutton.

Press Ctrl + Ato select all files. Press the deletebutton from keyboard and all these files will be

removed to your recycle Bin.Disk cleanup utility in windows will do itautomatically.

2. Well check for the other removable files with thesame Find Program.

In the Name box type temp and click the Find Nowbutton. If you find a folder named TemporaryInternet Files, click on it and open it. Again pressCtrl + Awith the help of the keyboard to Select allFiles and press your Delete button to get rid of all

these files. (These files do not go in to your recyclebin, they are just deleted).If you have any cookiefiles it will again ask you that really you want todelete them. Its up to you to decide to leave or

delete them. There is no great harm either way.Disk Cleanup in windows will do it automatically

3. Any thing in your Recycle Bin is NOT deleted fromyour hard drive and need to be restored to itsoriginal place on your drive or deleted. On yourdesktop, click on the Recycle Bin Icon to open it and

take a look at files it contains. To restore any files.Click on the files to select it, then go to File, Restoreon your menu bar. It restore the file to its originallocation. To delete the remaining files . Go to File,

Empty Recycle Bin on your menu bar.Disk cleanup utility in windows will do itautomatically.

4. On your Desktop Click on the My Computer Icon toopen it. Select your hard drive and click it with yourRight Mouse Button. At the bottom of the fly-outmenu Select Properties.

5. The property window opens showing graph ofavailable disk space as well as numerical information.Anything under 300MB is not enough room to install

any more new programs and still allow your computerto process properly. If you have Win 98 you can clickthe Disk Cleanup button to remove temporary filesand clean out your Recycle Bin.

6. Select the Tools Tab at the top of property window.

Click the Check Now.. Button under Error checkingstatus. Select standard in the next window and clickthe start button. De-select(Uncheck)AutomaticallyFix Errors. This way, if it finds a file with an error, the

program will give you several options to choose fromfor handling the file. Read and consider these optionscarefully, if in doubt, choose to save the file and lookat it later. You can always delete it later if it turns outto be something you dont want.

7. Go down to the Deframentation status section andclick the Defragment Now button.

ClickShow Details to see sectors being copied andmoved as your hard drive is cleaned up. This is wayof to watch if you have nothing else in the world dowith your time! Click on the Legend button for anexplanation of what the different colored squaresmean. Important if you have even one sector

that is designated as a bad sector (square with adiagonal line through it), immediately see abouthaving your hard drive replaced. Dont wait untilyou have trouble with your hard drive, do it now.

Check for Viruses

Regularly

Some people seem to be more prone to get virusesthan others. It is generally a good idea to keep abackup of your important files off your hard disk. Sothat you can restore them if your computer evercrashes or becomes infected with a data destroying

virus. Brand new viruses are really detected by virusscan program, so you should always play it safe anduse caution when downloading files and attachmenton to your computer and when receiving disks fromfamily, friends, and colleagues. Keep your virus

definition files up to date (check your scannerdocumentation for instructions on how to do this). Ifyou choose not to run a virus scan all the time,consider running full system scan every few weeks.

temp or temporary somewhere in its name

does NOT mean that its OK to remove it.
