Weststar Aviation Services takes the lead in initiating industry-wide discussion on the critical aspect of AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter Flight Data Monitoring Press Release Kuala Lumpur, 27 October 2014: Weststar Aviation Services Sdn Bhd (WASSB), prominent global offshore helicopter transportation services provider, earlier today commenced its first AW139 Operators’ Flight Data Monitoring Conference at Prince Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Held over two days, the conference brings together over 100 delegates from all corners of the world to promote a wide-spread technical discussion among key industry stakeholders anchoring around the areas of AW139 helicopter Flight Data Monitoring and Health Usage Monitoring Systems. While implementing and maintaining focus on safety, the conference offers infinite learning possibilities for attending delegates in the presence of a profound mix of esteemed local and international speakers providing context on the subject. Keeping abreast of the growing industry demand and in anticipation of what the company’s clients will require, WASSB CEO, General Tan Sri Muhammad Ismail Jamaluddin (R) remarked, “With the conference, we want to assert our position as a strong advocate of airworthiness and safety.” Ismail added, “In turn, this showcases our sound organizational structure where we practice prudence across all aspects of our operations. At the same time, the holding of the conference is also aimed at improving the quality of the aviation industry’s airworthiness as a whole by sharing industry best practices.” Initiating effort to bring industry experts and stakeholders together, Ismail explained, “We are paying heed to what the industry is demanding in aviation services at present. In part, we don’t want our operations to be one timid outfit and only resort to reactive measures should anything unfortunate were to happen.” At the same time, Weststar Aviation Services also celebrated another milestone with its expanding AW139 fleet of helicopters accomplishing 100,000 Pratt & Whitney PT6C-67C engine-operating hours. Pratt & Whitney General Manager Asia, Hub and Field Operations, Mr. Frank Shum presented Ismail with a commendation plaque to commemorate the achievement.
