Becoming a Christian...We believe that it is by grace that we are saved through our response of faith,

believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died to take the penalty of our sins on Himself, and that He was raised from the dead on the third day by the power of God. Having made this response of faith to God, all sin is forgiven and we receive the gift of God's Holy Spirit to live in us and to empower us to live for Jesus. All those who come to faith in Him may request immersion at any time.

Becoming a Member at Westside...All believers, who by faith in Jesus have been baptized through

immersion for forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit, may place their membership at Westside. You may express your desire to one of our elders or ministers, or mark the appropriate space on our visitor card. Responding...You may request immersion (baptism), re-commit your life, or seek prayers on your behalf

by going forward during the time of response or by contacting an elder, a minister, or any member of this congregation at any time.

Communion...Communion at Westside is open to all believers who have gathered with us to honor Jesus.

Housing Needed for Springfest...We are hoping to provide free housing to the out-of-town teens and chaperones who come to Westside for Springfest on the nights of May 13 and 14. If you are available to host a group in your home on those days, please fill out a Springfest Host Home Sign Up Card or fill out the online form at http://tinyurl.com/springfesthomes. Offering free housing will allow more teenagers and chaperones to come hear the Gospel at Springfest 2016! If you have any questions please see Bryan.

SALT & LIGHT (Matthew 5:13-16)...January is Human Trafficking Awareness

month. Women are victims of this crime here in Bakersfield. Christians from the Bakersfield community are ministering to these women through an outreach program called Magdalene Hope. Twice a month a van is driven to Union Avenue where volunteers pray with the women and distribute backpacks filled with personal items. We are asking Westside to help fill some of these backpacks by bringing any of the personal items needed. We will be collecting them throughout the month of January, and would greatly appreciate anything you can donate. Stop by the Salt & Light Booth and pick up a sheet with specific items needed. Please leave your donations at the Salt and Light booth in the basket marked Magdalene Hope. If you have any questions please contact Jeff or Cheryl Prude.

Mark your calendars for AWP (Associated Women of Pepperdine) Soup Kitchen on Saturday, February 13. More details to come.

*** Please return your filled ‘Change for Children’ cans to the Guest Services Counter.
