This has seen a number of inspirational visitors joining us in school and also providing a great opportunity for our students to celebrate their culture and language while they lead chapel. We are very proud to celebrate the selection of our Senior Prefect, Tupou Vaai, to the New Zealand Secondary Schools Rugby team. This is a wonderful achievement. Our students continue to push ahead with their academic achievements. We are very pleased to already have twenty of our Year 11 students with NCEA Level One, nine of our Year 12 students with NCEA Level Two and five of our Year 13 students with NCEA Level Three. They will now be pushing on to earn endorsements. The school is in the planning stages of introducing student owned computers or Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). We have invested heavily in school owned computers but cannot provide a device for every student. We therefore want to trial the introduction of student owned devices. This will allow students to have ready access to computers in and out of the classroom, for homework and prep. We are likely to trial BYOD at one year level in 2018 where a device would be required by all students. More information about this trial will be provided through the rest of the year. I wish you all a safe and relaxing break between terms and look forward to seeing you at parent interviews early in term four. We have been enjoying the celebration of Tongan Language Week and Maori Language Week during our morning chapel and assemblies recently. This has seen a number of inspirational visitors joining us in school and also providing a great opportunity for our students to celebrate their culture and language while they lead chapel. We are very proud to celebrate the selection of our Senior Prefect, Tupou Vaa’i, to the New Zealand Secondary Schools Rugby team. This is a wonderful achievement.
