Water Supply: The water supply is provided & administered by the Town of Vulcan –
Water, Sewer & Garbage fees are on one bill issued bi-monthly as per the following
utility schedule.
Water (for the first 3,000 imperial gallons/two months $39.00
For the next 7,000 imperial gallons/1,000 imperial gallons $ 2.95
Over 10,000 imperial gallons/1,000 imperial gallons $ 2.65
Basic Garbage $20.00
Basic sewer $11.10
In July, 2002 Council revised the Utility Bylaw to conserve and regulate our treated
water. In an effort to make better use of this valued resource the following rules were
incorporated into the Bylaw. Please help us to continue conserving treated water by
observing the following “Watering Schedule”
Even numbered houses – Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday
Odd numbered houses – Wednesday, Friday & Sunday
Waste Management: Sewage treatment is provided & administrated by the Town of
Vulcan
Garbage Collection: Garbage collection is contracted out and is collected weekly
Tuesday – South of Center Street
Wednesday – North of Center Street
Friday – Allen Subdivision
Friday – Whispering Creek
Recycling: Vulcan offers a recycling depot @ 110 – 1st Street North as well as a bottle
depot @ 804 – 2nd
Avenue North (485-2221) for it’s residents
Transfer Station: The Vulcan District Waste Commission (485-2241) operates the
Transfer Station located east of Town on Highway 534. Transfer Station hours are as
follows:
Monday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Friday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
EMERGENCY SERVICES
All emergency services in Vulcan are accessed by calling 911.
Fire Protection: Vulcan is served by a volunteer fire department.
Police Services: Vulcan is served by a local detachment of the RCMP.

Vulcan is also home to Citizens on Patrol. This active group ensures that our Town is a
safe place to live. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information,
call the local RCMP Detachment.
Ambulance Services: Local ambulance service is available through the Vulcan &

facility with an additional 15 long-term care beds, D-level radiology area, modern lab and
