• Workshops are provided for each grade level

• Grade 11 and 12 students are invited to attend

• Ontario University Fair in September• University Presentations at Crestwood in the Fall• University Open Houses: Fall and March Break• University Tours – can be arranged on an individual basis• Workshops on applying to U.S. and Out-of–Province

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

FOR ONTARIO UNIVERSITIES • High School Diploma (OSSD)

• English 12 (ENG4U) and five additional Grade 12 U/M courses

• The university and program determine prerequisite Grade 12 courses and publish the previous year’s “grade range.”

This is the average of the best six Grade 12U/M courses, including prerequisites

• Many programs have additional requirements such as interviews, portfolios and essays

IMPORTANCE OF GRADE 11 MARKS?

• Grade 11 is the foundation for Grade 12 courses

• All Grade 11 and 12 marks are seen by the Universities - “Full Disclosure”

• Some Ontario universities have started to offer very early conditional acceptance in December and January of Grade 12 year, based on excellent Grade 11 marks plus any previously completed Grade 12 courses

• U.S. applications use final Gr. 11 marks and any completed grade 12 marks for Early Decision

ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) COURSE

• University level course studied here

• Extra time and effort

• AP Exams in May

• Excellent preparation for university studies

• U.S. universities favour AP candidates

• Recognition of AP study on Ontario university application form

• Earn university credit toward degree

• Every Canadian university has an AP policy in place

• A.P. Courses in Science, History, French, English, Art and Economics
