Principal Notes

It is hard to believe we are leaving for Easter break today. When we return we will be starting 4th

quarter and have a lot of events planned during our last two months. We will be starting IOWA

Assessments on April 14th

. All students in grades 1-7 will participate in these. It is important the

students are here on time and that they have had a good night sleep and a healthy breakfast.

Our VIP/Grandparent Day is scheduled for Friday, April 24, 2015. We will start the day with

Mass at 8:15 AM. We hope you are able to join us for the day. Please see the flyer in the mailer

with more information.

As we prepare to leave for Easter break, I hope you are planning to attend the services planned

here at St. Matthias over Easter weekend. The services are listed below.

Registration and Tuition for the 2015-2016 School Year

St. Matthias Parish School will be emailing out invoices for the 2015-2016 school year. As you

may recall, no registration fee was sent in with the reservation form for next year. We are now

invoicing families $300 to reserve student(s) spots. The $300 is deducted from your 2015-2016

tuition. The $300 payment is due to the school office on or before May 15, 2015. If you do not

receive an email from Mr. Jonathan Richter by Monday, April 6, 2015, please contact him at

[email protected].

The school finance committee will be meeting over Easter break. We plan to publish the tuition

for the 2015-2016 once we return.

2015-2016 School Calendar

We are finalizing our school calendar for next year. I have the main dates listed below. We will

publish a full calendar with events and specials days after Easter. The following are the main

dates parents are looking for:

Our VIP/Grandparent Day is scheduled for Friday, April 24th

home about this. We need all visitors who will be eating hot lunch to order ahead of time. The

flyer has all the information. We hope you are all able to join us on this day.

Parish Annual Meeting

All parishioners are invited to Steiger Hall on Saturday, April 18th

immediately following the

4:00pm mass for our all parish meeting. We will review the entire fiscal year for the parish,

recent projects, upcoming events and provide an updated status of all our buildings. Additionally,

a parishioner has generously donated dinner for everyone. There will be ham, rolls, potato salad,

desserts and refreshments. Please join us for this important event.

Endowment

The parish Endowment Committee will be meeting on April 8th

. If you plan to apply for

endowment please turn all forms in to the school office before Easter break. If you need forms,

please pick them up or call the school office to have them sent home with your child.

IOWA Assessment

Please see the letter in this week’s mailer about the IOWA Assessment which will start April 14th

and run through April 22nd

.

Strategic Planning

Thank you to all who completed our Strategic Planning surveys. We will use that data to plan

for the next 3-5 years here at St. Matthias Parish School.

Parish Easter Egg Hunt

All children ages K4-3 grade are invited to join us for our Easter egg hunt, immediately

following the 8:45am Easter morning mass. There is no cost or registration, participating

children can meet in the school courtyard after mass. In case of inclement weather, we will meet

in Steiger Hall.

Important MEC Information

MEC will be closed from Monday, April 6th – Friday, April 10th for Easter Break. MEC will be

open Thursday, April 2nd from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm & Friday, April 3rd from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.


Vacation Bible School

Please be on the lookout for registration materials for the 2015 Vacation Bible School after

spring break. VBS will once again be offered free of charge to parishioners with MEC being

offered before and after VBS.

Attention 5th Graders

Basketball Open Gym will start April 8th NOT April 1st as last week’s flyer stated. Questions or

2014 FACTS Tuition Payment Instructions

As you start to gather your information for your 2014 tax return, parents may be able to take a

deduction for private school tuition by filing Schedule PS with your Wisconsin Tax Return.

Parents that are utilizing the FACTS Management System for paying their tuition may follow the

instructions listed below.

Instructions for printing out what you paid for Tuition in 2014:

1. Log into your FACTS account

2. Click View Details

3. Click on the payment tab

4. Click on View Printable Payment Summary

5. In the Select a year or date range, select date range from the drop down menu

6. Enter the date range from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014

7. Click the Ok button

8. Print your Payment Summary report for your tax records

For those parents who paid their tuition directly to St. Matthias Parish School, St. Matthias will

be sending out tuition receipts for the tuition payments that were made during the calendar year

2014. These receipts will be mailed out by January 31, 2015.
