Write to Learn Wednesday- Sept 16th

For time management- you’re allowed to just complete bullets 2 and 6* today!

Review and revise the assessment from Wednesday Sept 9th-

You can use your t-charts from yesterday and your notes from your notebooks to help you find page numbers… You might want to start with a brainstorm

Write a paragraph on the back of the assessment using the “evidence sandwich” format to argue whether or not you think Brady is at fault for Ben’s death. (4-6 sentences with page numbers).

You will start with your claim- (Do you believe Brady is or isn’t responsible for Ben’s death?)

Use 2-3 details from the story with in-text citations to support your claim.

Finish with a creative rewrite of your claim statement- (Be more articulate than “And that’s why I think he’s innocent”! )

A defense attorney focuses on gathering evidence about everyone who is involved so that they can prove that the accused ISN’T guilty.

Motive- the reason someone makes a choice or the reason they behave the way they do.
