Public holiday: Labour Day 22 nd of October Week 10 Term 2 | 4 July 2018 Tena koutou e te whanau, he mihi nui kia koutou katoa Kia ora, Talofa lava and Bonjour. Welcome to Week 10 of Term 2. The end of term two has arrived and plenty of new learning and teaching has occurred. This week we had out Matariki dawn ceremony and it was great to see so many families attend [and some for the second time] as this is now an annual event on our Te Kura o Ritimana calendar. The swimming pool has been packed up thanks to Tu and other adults last Saturday and we’d like to thank them for that as it isn't an easy task. The pool provided to us by PoolsiNschoolZ will be back in term three 2019 for another term and will make its way to Waterlea Primary over the holiday break. Thank you PoolsiNschoolZ for this opportunity to provide our tamariki with a pool at a lower cost than would otherwise be possible. http://www.poolsinschoolz.com/ The design work for our new library, resource room, administration offices, staffroom etc has a tentative start date for construction as the beginning of 2019. It is likely that over the Summer break this year [2018/2019] the admin office, RTM office and leadership space will temporarily move to the old TWW spaces, MiM will move to the last two classrooms on the field and the library will move into the classroom on the lower court to allow for the year long renovation to occur. More updates will follow as the year progresses. David [DP] and Peter [BoT] are your school contacts. This is my last newsletter for Richmond Road School and I wish you all the very best for the rest of 2018 and into the future. Richmond Road is a great place to be with a diverse community that is very representative of Aotearoa New Zealand this century. Our children are lucky to be here as we work hard in preparing them well for being ‘culturally intelligent life long learners who aim high’. The Board will update you on Friday around who will be the Acting Principal during the period between my departure and the appointment of a new permanent leader. Have a safe and amazing time over the coming two week break and we look forward to welcoming you back on the 23rd July for term three.
