WEEK 2: THE BIBLE HELPS US KNOW GOD

HEY, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! If we want to know God, we need to know what He tells us about Himself. His words in the Bible tell us who He is and what He has done. The Bible also tells us how to have a relationship with Him through believing in Jesus Christ. Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child.

1. How do we get to know God?

2. Tell a story: Describe a time when you learned more about someone or something and that changed the way you viewed that person or thing. How did your opinion change because you spent time learning more about that person or thing?

3. Because we know how important it is to read the Bible and get to know God, how will this affect the way we live our lives?

WEEK 4: THE BIBLE TEACHES US ABOUT PEOPLE FROM THE PAST

HEY, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! God tells us about many real-life people in the Bible. They are examples for us not because they are perfect, but because they had faith in God. The faith of the Bible characters can teach us, encourage us in our own faith, and give us hope. Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child.

1. How are the people from the Bible like us?

2. Tell a story: Describe a time in your life when you had a mentor, someone you looked up to. What made that person so meaningful in your life? Do your kids have a mentor? Someone they look up to and who has made an impact on them? Why are these people so important?

3. As your faith in God grows, how will this help you when you are going through a hard time?

WEEK 5: THE BIBLE TEACHES US HOW TO LIVE

HEY, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! When we make choices on our own, we often sin and cause problems that could hurt ourselves or others. 1. Why is it important to know God’s instructions for us?

2. Tell a story: Describe a time when you listened to bad instructions. What happened? Tell about another time when you listened to instructions that were helpful. Why is it important to follow good instructions?

3. What are some things you can do right away to start learning God’s instructions for your life?

HEBREWS 4:12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

HEY, PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS! The Bible was written by God, and He knows exactly what’s happening in your life right now. His words in the Bible are alive and active to help you with your problems and show you what He sees in your heart. Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child.

1. Who knows everything about us?

2. Tell a story: Describe a time when you had a problem. Where did you go for wisdom in finding a solution to this problem? Why should we look to God’s word for help with the problems we face in this life?

3. What does it mean that the Bible is living and active?

Use the following questions below to continue the conversation with your child.

1. What is the Bible?

2. Tell a story: Describe a time in your life when you went to the Bible for help, encouragement, wisdom, or guidance. What difference did seeking God’s wisdom make over seeking man’s wisdom?
