Sunday School Promotion Sunday
Sunday, September 4, will be promotion Sunday for our Sunday School children when they will be promoted to their next grade. Children will meet in the gym after our worship service. They will meet their new teacher and have treats before going to their classrooms.

Circuit VisitationOur Circuit Visitor Pastor Dean Hanson has invited our congregation to meet with him on Tuesday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. Before the meeting members are asked to complete a questionnaire and bring it with you to the meeting. You should have received it either by email or in your church mailbox. It is also available on our website www.zionkearney.com
Zion Lutheran Golf Tournament6th Annual 2 Person Scramble
Sunday, September 25TH
Zion Lutheran is hosting its Annual 2 Person Golf Scramble. The golf tournament will take place at the Elks Country Golf. Cost is $75 per team (two divisions: 2 adults or 1 adult/1child) which includes 18 holes of golf and dinner. Prizes will be awarded to the top team in each division. Door prizes and flag prizes will also be awarded. If interested in participating or sponsoring a hole for $50, please contact Zion Lutheran School at 2421 Ave. C. Zion’s sanctuary is equipped with a HEARING LOOP. Please switch hearing aids to T-coil mode. We have 2 headsets and receivers that persons without hearing aids can use. Ask an usher for assistance.
Forgot your offering? Don’t have your checkbook or cash? Today or any day you can give in a new
way! Visit our website at zionkearney.com and click on the “giving” tab. Or, text “zionkearney” (one word) to 77977. You’ll
receive a text back with instructions to start giving.
Midweek Class OrientationMidweek class orientation for students and parents is scheduled for August 31 at 6:00 PM. This class is for all youth (4th grade and older).At orientation the students will receive materials for the class and an assignment sheet for the coming school year.
1ADULT INFORMATION CLASS
The next Adult Instruction Class will begin September 11th. “Here We Stand Together” is the theme for this class that will be held on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, through God’s Word, class members will grow in their faith in God and in love toward others, while gaining a better understanding of the teachings of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. If you or someone you know might be interested in this class in order to grow in Christ or to become a member at Zion, please contact Pastor Gaunt at 308-455-0552.

The Board of Stewardship thanks the congregation and family & friends of the Hererra family for the generous donations given at the ice cream social last Sunday. Donations totaling over $2,700 along with matching funds of $2,000 will be given to the Hererra family to help with medical expenses.Sunday School Promotion Sunday
