IT UpgradeImagine you purchased a hot new, Ferrari. You have reserved some track time to experience its handling, speed and power. The testing day approaches, but you find the track is made of…dirt. This metaphor represents student and staff‘s technology experience at PCS. The Ferrari is a new laptop, tablet or smartphone and the track is the wired and wireless infrastructure. Though the new device was purchased, it still is not able to perform to the best of its ability because of the infrastructure. With a goal of increasing fluid productivity experiences, in-class work time, developing robust wireless and making a way for future technologies, a group of counselors and Steve Doroff, IT Director, decided to rework the dirt track into a full-blown raceway. The redevelopment began last May.The Parent Association funded the project from 2016 Banquet and Auction proceeds. Eleven volunteers gave over 180 hours to hang, pull, crimp and label over eight miles of cable (that‘s about the height of Mount Everest…plus a half). Device (Ferrari) performance increased up to 450%! Device wireless performance increased up to 270%! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Banquet & Auctions

7What a wonderful evening at the Banquet & Auctions. The monies from the auctions will be funneled through the Parent Association for school and classroom needs. The monies from the offertory will help us meet our annual budget. PCS would like to thank Jill Waslaski for spearheading and chairing the evening. Also thanks to Lisa Christenson for chairing the Auctions. These ladies, along with their able teams, worked so hard to make it a special, meaningful evening for all in attendance. Thank you Mr. Levang and Pastor Cal for a fun game of the Price is Right! Mr. Nellermoe eloquently shared from his heart. We are grateful! We also thank the 51 students that participated! You make

us proud! We love hearing you sing, play, recite verses, participate in the fun of the program, and love seeing you serve our guests by helping them bid, register, clean up, and all the other tasks you did heartily, as unto the Lord!Five family names were drawn for the $3,500 tuition gift before landing on the winner! Jim and Shari Dunkel! Congratulations Dunkels! Every family currently at PCS is entered into the drawing, but you have to be present to win. Make plans now to attend next year! The date is April 14th, 2018.Thank you for attending. Thank you for giving. Thank you for participating. Thank you for a wonderful, celebratory, joyful evening together. We love the PCS family!

Girls’ Golf Devotions:The devotion the girls’ golf team did in the van on the way to their first meet referenced how we all make mistakes in life, but God is more concerned about how we handle the adversity than the mistake itself. The point was, golf is not a game of perfect. No matter how good we are at the sport, mistakes will be made on the course. How will we react? Complain, pout, or learn from it with a smile on our face and move on. Coach Doeden had a chance to see most of the girls on the course throughout the day and he reported that every one of them played with a smile on their face and Jesus in their heart.

THE PCS IMPACTwww.ParkChristianSchool.org Spiritual Emphasis Day Has Big Impact Since 1981

Visit us at www.ParkChristianSchool.org218-236-0500

March 23rd was a unique and fun day at PCS. It was Spiritual Emphasis day. This year the seventh through twelfth graders spent a full day in prayer, praise, and sharing at Salem East. What made this day such a blessing was the wide breadth of influence that was experienced. In this one day students had the opportunity to hear their senior classmates share about what God is doing in their lives, local pastors shared insights from their ministries, teachers shared their testimonies, there were insights given by alumni, and even how a canoe trip from the Hudson Bay to the Gulf of Mexico could be used by the Lord (thank you Dr. Lane). Thank you to all who shared and contributed. This day of many small pieces has a big impact on PCS students.

JLG Architects presented the master campus plan to the Design Task Force on April 18. This plan takes into account the various listening sessions, meetings, surveys, and cross checks them against the budget dollars available through fundraising as well as the priority list established at the beginning of the Master Planning Phase. There are still more tweaks to be done to the plan, however, it will be ready for unveiling in May.Please continue to pray for PCS and all of the people involved in this process as we quite a bit of work to do to be ready to put a shovel in the ground. Please feel free to reach out to the expansion committee chair, Jason Loney with any questions you may have. [email protected] or 701-371-1672.

Expansion update

Join us at one of two schematic design unveiling events. This design is the basic plan of how we plan to expand the school throughout the future of PCS, and includes all the work that has been done by the Design Task Force and

JLG Architects. Please join us on either Thursday, May 4 at 6:30 PM or Friday, May 5 at 7:00 AM in the

Fine Arts room. These are exciting times!
