You need at least four (4) subjects from the list above at level 4 (50-59%). Secondly, you must comply with the APS score and admission requirements for the study course involved.

Determining the APS scoreThe performance in six (6) subjects is used to calculate the APS • score. Four (4) of the subjects are from the designated list (as needed for university admission). If the two (2) other subjects are not from the list (thus from the ordinary NSC subject list) it is taken into account. The APS mark obtained in Life Orientation is not taken into • account when calculating the APS score, but to attain a National Senior Certificate (NSC), a learner must acquire a scale mark of three (3) in Life Orientation. For the Potchefstroom Campus of the NWU, the following • Language requirements have been set: A pass mark of level 4 (50-59%) in the language of learning and teaching at Home Language or First Additional Language level. Therefore if Afrikaans is your home language level language and English your first additional language, you must attain this performance in at least one (1) of the two (2).For more information on provisional university admission, contact • 012 481 2921 or visit www.sauvca.org.za

The following selection table is used for determining the APS score:(Conversion of symbols of school subjects)

NSC-level APS score

7 (80-100%) 76 (70-79%) 65 (60-69%) 54 (50-59%) 43 (40-49%) 32 (30-39%) 21 (0-29%) 1
