The Lodge Warrants
Comments
"At the date when this lodge was constituted, each of the two Grand Lodges, known as
Moderns and Athols or Ancients issued warrants constituting lodges".
Watson is scornful of the "legend" of the Ancients with their claim to antiquity by
identifying themselves with the Grand Lodge of York said to have been instituted in 926
A D by Constitutions granted by Prince Edwin.
There are many items of early masonic interest in this section, together with copies of
old lodge warrants and other documents but unfortunately the ravages of time and the
small text make them impossible or very difficult to read except for small sections.
