A VOCATION VIEW-The call of

the disciples is so familiar to us

that we tend to miss the wonder

of the disciples’ response, which

was immediate and complete; they leave

everything and follow Jesus. Can we do less if we

feel that God is calling us to the priesthood or

religious life? If you think God is calling you to a

Church vocation, call or email Fr. Andrew

Merrick at 225-336-8778, [email protected],

or visit www.diobr.org/vocations.

Please remember Gladys “Nomie” Lambert,

Buddy Tullier, J.C. & Billie Petit, Jean

Bernuchaux, Margie LeBlanc, Sue

Richard, Duane Humphrey, our family

and friends in your prayers. Sympathy to

the family of Geneva L. Kling.

PARISH MISSION with Fr. Simeon Gallagher, OFM Cap

‘I’m Spiritual but not Religious:’

Constructing Faith for the Modern Age

The recent Synod on New Evangelization (October

2012) emphasized the challenge of on-going faith

formation. It is not sufficient to be spiritual without

being religious and inadequate to be religious without

a vibrant spirituality. This Parish Mission will explore

the connection between the two and root the

integration of religion and spirituality in a

doctrinal/scriptural framework.

Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother Have you ever wondered why Mary is so important

to our faith as Catholics? We turn to her in prayer, in

the Mass, in the Rosary, and in Marian devotions. We

honor her with special feasts celebrating the

significant events in her life. We place images of her

in our churches and homes.

During this Lenten Season, join us for Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother, an

extraordinary study that reveals Mary's unique role in

God's Kingdom and in our lives. Filmed on location in

the Holy Land, Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother will place you in the midst of the

powerful drama of her earthly life, taking you through

her joys and her sorrows. You will learn how she

works in our lives today, drawing us ever closer to her

divine Son. Mary will become a part of your daily life

and help you to become more like Christ.

We are in need of leaders to host groups of 6-12

people. A Leader Training will be held on Tuesday,

January 30 @ 7:00 PM in the St. Anne Activity Center.

Please contact the Parish Office (225-675-8126 or

[email protected]) to register as a leader or participant.
