Western Alaska Ministry Training
"I had the privilege to be a part of WAMT Intro. to Preaching class. I was blessed to learn and be in community alongside my brothers and sisters in Christ. I learned how to communicate God's word so people can connect on a deeper level. I was quickly able to apply what I learned when I was a speaker at junior high Bible Camp in Unalakleet this summer. I can't express how grateful I am for this experience."

Western Alaska Ministry Training
TRAINING for pastors and ministry leaders FOR western Alaska churches
IN western Alaska
The Vison The Evangelical Covenant Church of Alaska (ECCAK) desires to see formal biblical and ministry training be more readily available, for more people, in order to equip local pastors and leaders for the unique challenges of ministry in western Alaska.
Locations and Course Schedule Courses alternate between various YK Delta and Norton Sound villages, typically in the fall and in the spring. Occasionally, courses will be offered on the road system. Courses are taught by a diverse group that includes Alaska clergy, seminary professors, and other presenters who are committed to seeing God’s work continue to bear fruit in Alaskan churches.
Preparation for Ordination The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) has historically placed a high priority on the education of its clergy. There is a long, rich history of Native pastors serving local congregations. Extensive travel requirements, lengthy time commitments and expensive travel costs prohibit many Alaskans wishing to purse formal ministry training. WAMT offers a training curriculum tract that includes courses offered in western Alaska locations over a fiveindividuals for ordination, in place of traditional seminary courses.
Continuing Education for Vocational or Lay MinistryCourses can be taken individually for those desiring continuing education training or for men or women seeking to serve in vocational or lay ministry leadership.
WAMT has reawakened my desire for a greater vision of my walk and duties to His church. I've
experience refreshing views for my spiritual eyes that keep this intense week of learning tasting like my favorite akutaq after a hearty meal. The knowledge I've gained has left me wanting more from the well of Jesus. Tom Mute, Kindergarten Aide
“I think what I enjoyed most about WAMT was the fellowship of believers, we ate together, discussed issues, sought understanding of
what was expected of us, prayed together, and encouraged one another to continue on. By God's grace, I hope to attain to a learning through which Christ can be presented to others more clearly and effectively. Quyana WAMT.”
Vincent Eben, Associate Pastor First Covenant Church, Anchorage
