onthesemacroevolu3onarytrends.UsingdatafrombodysizesofPoseidonamicus(ostracodes)andrecordsofpaleotemperatures,theywouldtestto
seeiftherewerenega3vecorrela3onsintemporalchangesinbodysizeand
temperature,increasesinbodysizethatwereaributabletoevolu3onarychanges
withinalineage,andthattheslopeofatemperature-sizerela3onshipwasconsistent
withmodernpopula3onsingeographicallyseparateloca3ons.Allofthesewere
observedandledtotheoverallconclusionthatifspecieslikePosidononamicusalsoget
thesameresultsthenclimatechangewillhavesignificantimpactsonthebodysizeof

turnover.Itisimportanttounderstandtherela3onshipsamongtheseresponsesand
howtheycanpoten3allyoccursimultaneouslyorresultinacascadeeffect.Thisshould
thenhelpinlayingoutaframeworkforthefullpoten3alofdynamicsformammalian
ecosystemsinresponsetotheaggrega3ngeffectsofclimatechange.
