Welcome, Saint Louis Pi Phis!

Pi Phi Spirit ... Sisterhood and Service! What more could you want? Our club’s theme for the 2014–15 year sums up so well what is wonderful about being a member of a Pi Phi Alumnae Club, and more specifically, the Saint Louis Alumnae Club. So what’s in store?

Spirited Programs. Show off your Pi Phi finery at the Sisterhood Supper ... sip ice cream floats with Missouri Betas ... shop to support local philanthropies at our annual Sign of the Arrow shopping night ... exchange books for a cause at the holiday party ... Lunch and Learn at the newly remodeled Saint Louis Public Library ... party in PINK and meet our newest sisters from the Saint Louis region ... With old and new Pi Phi friends at your side, you are sure to have loads of laughs and learn lots about Pi Phi, the Saint Louis area and your sisters!

Explore New Service Opportunities. Building off the momentum of our March Fraternity Day of Service event, our NEW Literacy Outreach Coordinator is organizing some stimulating hands-on service events for the club to take on this year. Add some dine-out fundraising and fellowship dates, plus a fun new mini-fundraiser at the holidays, and I know you’ll find something for ALL desired levels of time and commit-ment to service.

Tried and True Traditions. Sign of the Arrow. Founders’ Day Luncheon. Philanthropy Brunch. Book Club. Dinner Group. Young Alum Group. Panhellenic Scholarship Lunch. Just a few of the elements that define us as Pi Phis, and more uniquely, SAINT LOUIS Pi Phis.

So whether you’ve been a member of the club for six or sixty years, are new to the area and the club, or if you’ve been around town for ages but haven’t been involved in the club for whatever reason, I invite you to get in the Spirit and join us for this new year of Pi Phi Spirit ... Sisterhood and Service. See you in September!

Yours in wine and blue,

siGn oF the arroW moves to neW Location

The moment has come. After the long journey we began earlier this year, our dream of a bigger, better, more beautiful Sign of the Arrow is here! All of our staff, volunteers and even family members have worked so hard. There are no words to thank everyone enough for all that they have contributed to this move.

The shop celebrated its Grand Opening on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. The celebration included a ribbon cutting and tours of the shop.

Please visit Sign of the Arrow at its NEW location at 9814 Clayton Road — one block west from the old location. Look for the purple door!

Pi Phis Promoted Literacy on 2014 Fraternity day oF service

Pi Phis gathered at the Little Bit Foundation on March 22, 2014. We toured the warehouse of the Little Bit Foundation, which helps disadvantaged school children by providing books, school supplies, socks, underwear, winter coats and hygiene products. We then helped the Little Bit staff put together packs of school supplies, which included things like pens, pencils, scissors, folders and glue sticks.

Sign of the Arrow welcomes the St. Louis Pi Beta Phi Alumnae to our new location at 9814 Clayton Road, a block west from the previous business storefront for more than forty years.

Our new location opens extra space to display traditional product lines of needlepoint and gifts in a more effective way, allowing expanded inventory. It also gives staff, buyers and sales volunteers more space to work with comfort and efficiency. We are thrilled to offer these improvements to customers as they shop and support the goal of serving the St. Louis community through the donation of proceeds.

As alumnae of Pi Beta Phi, you are part of the establishment of Sign of the Arrow as a nonprofit venture contributing more than $3.5 million to charitable organizations since 1966. As customers and

supporters, you have enabled those associated with the shop to move forward with confidence and enthusiasm to the next chapter of continued success. We thank you for your ongoing support and invite you to become part of this fun group of volunteers by contacting Merry Gnaegy at (636) 537-9545 or [email protected].

The new location for Sign of the Arrow is a perfect reason for you to stop in and see the freshly remodeled shop housing our expanded and newly displayed inventory. We look forward to greeting you and working with you to make an even larger impact in the coming years.
