Volunteership at Sadhana

Initial Dialog Any expected volunteer must send a written note of couple of pages on How would you like to describe yourself? Your real interests etc... (CV isnt enough) Why you want to volunteer at Sadhana? Time limit is essential, I agree with that, and can be customized with every volunteer, based on initial dialog, may be offer a week to explore and make final decisions.

What we expect At Sadhana School, we expect volunteers to understand a list of things to engage more actively with their own self and environment. For example nature of being/childness how a child learns how learning takes place how our own learning and environment shapes us nature of questions that Sadhana school wants to address Means to understand are unlearning, questioning, observation, participation, going through Sadhana material, seminar videos, talking actively with mentors, teachers etc. Activities at school Few research based enquiries must be taken up by the volunteer in context of Sadhana School. Volunteer can decide based on her/his interest. There is a possibility that volunteer may not have skills for doing the same, in that case, simple data gathering activity can be assigned around some of these ideas or volunteers can work together. We can share a list of examples or they can initiate some ideas. Few examples could be studying drawing behaviors studying linguistic behaviors

how musicality or sounds translate in child's world what is the meaning of space for a child impact of cameras/mobiles village v/s urban environment in context of child redefining idea of waste etc. nature of Sadhana curriculum etc.

Activities of craft-nature must be taken up by volunteers. S(he) can offer to conduct the same in school space or can also learn one or multiple activities in school space like farming, cooking, tailoring, pottery, painting etc. If these activities are considered as projects then there must be deliverables of some significance. Nature of that deliverable, at least, should not just be a written report or power point we can brainstorm on its nature.. Aforementioned activities are expected from the volunteers not as separate tasks. Any combination of any sort is possible; a research theme can be approached through your engagement with the craft or vice versa. This is great idea of learning local language but school must offer to take responsibility of teaching the language through whatever means and needs to be effective and time bound.
