My dear Graces, Excellencies, Fathers, Sisters, Parents and CKCians,

If a plant is affectionately nurtured by a gardener, it will become good and yield better fruits. Likewise, our children must be given good education from their early childhood that they may always tread in the righteous path and never go astray. While educating the minds of young learners; we should never forget to educate their hearts.

“Service to human being is service to God”, creating responsible and better human beings is our cherished motto.

Chiselling of Soft skills, honing educational skills and propelling self confidence in our scholars is our watchword. Our peerless, unparalleled and efficacious academic board results both at ICSE /ISC 2015-16 reflect the sheer hard work of our highly intellectual teachers. The munificence, grace and mercy of Christ, our Redeemer and Immaculate Mother Mary, the Queen of our hearts has always led us to the loftiest heights of success.

Pearls of Wisdom from the Principal …..

I am very happy to know that the magazine “CROWN” is getting more and more popular in Jhansi. This is a way by which we want to be in touch with the parents for the better relationship. This is a good venture to relate with the parents of the students and keep them informed about the goal and purpose of the Education and which includes extra-curricular activities for the students. Our Anglo Indian English foundation provides the fabric with which the tapestry of our pupils' experiences unfolds and their creativity blossoms. Optimism, service, compassion, tolerance, hope and faithfulness are the underpinnings of CKC education. One of our academic stars Master Inzemam Ali Siddiqui of Std. 12 Science stream got selected in the National Defence Academy in his maiden attempt. Marvellous!!!! Isn't it?

Our college presents a joyous blend of traditional and modern education where knowledge is imparted to the students so that they may occupy a better place in the modern competitive world. Almost every week we organise various Inter House Competitions which are exclusively judged by renowned and reputed people of this historic City Jhansi. We teach our students to learn, achieve and aspire. Education is all about helping the children to realize and explore their potentialities and hidden talents. We mould and spur our students on to be the brightest and the best. Globalization demands a new dimension to our approach to educate, thus we are striving hard to impart globally relevant education with the effective usage of Educomp Smart class. We make concerted efforts for the holistic development of the students who enter the portals of CKC orchid .We strive to keep you well informed about the progress of your ward through E CARE Services and easily accessible E CARE App for your mobile phones.

It feels like blossomed roses to pen down a few words as prologue to our glorious and dazzling newsletter CROWN which is exclusively meant for churning out the latent writing talent which bears immense potentiality of sharpening our intellects. The Editor in Chief and the Editorial board deserve hearty compliments for this marvellous literary publication.

And as the cliché goes, last but not the least, I beseech all the CKCians to focus on their cherished goals and strive hard to accomplish them transcending mediocrity and procrastination.

God bless thee!

Yours in Christ Jesus,Rev. Fr. Richard A.Principal

a prerequisite to positive action; it recognizes human dignity, a person's worth that stems simply and profoundly from being loved by God. Compassion, leading to solidarity that compels the students to become agents of change, in order to go on fulfilling God's dream for the world.

A person of commitment is one of courageous action. Through one's openness to the guidance of the Spirit and companionship with Jesus, he or she will be able to discern the urgent needs of the time, so that his/her ways of serving the society will be rich and deep commitment to create a new society based on Justice, Peace, love and harmony.

So our responsibility lies in making special efforts to enable students:-

To think for themselves independently and critically.

To seek, extend and apply knowledge to the solution of human problems.

To continually strive after excellence in every field.

To become mature, spiritually aware men and women of character.

To value and judiciously use their freedom, combining with it a full sense of responsibility for actions.

To be clear and firm on principles and courageous in action.

To be clear and firm on principles and courageous in action.

To be unselfish in the service of their fellowmen and concerned for the welfare of the poor and socially oppressed.

To become agents of needed social change in their own situations.

Pearls of Wisdom the Principal ….. Blessings by His Lordship........

In Memoriam............Paying homage to the dear departed soul.....

Tearful Tribute to our beloved Bishop Frederick D'souza.................

He was a very loving, kind and a caring person. He has the credit of opening most of the mission stations and schools in Jhansi. He was the person who was for the poor and he used to help them in his own sweet way.

He was a very affectionate and an approachable person.

He was a brother and friend to priests, Father to seminarians and shepherd to the faithful and saviour to the needy persons. His relentless endeavour and trust in the Lord helped him to do much for our Catholic Diocese of Jhansi.

In short, from 11 priest and a few mission stations, Bishop Frederick has brought this diocese of Jhansi to nearly 45 mission stations, 70 priests and 250 sisters to serve in the vineyard of the Lord. This is the life time achievement for which he will be greatly rewarded by the Almighty God. Surely, this is the work of the Lord and we shall praise Him for what He has done through Bishop Frederick D'souza.

May his soul rest in peace.

May he bloom in the garden of heaven.

May God crown him and keep him in His eternal heavenly abode.

Bereaved,Christ the King College Family

The Editor's Epistle of love................Praise the Lord!!!!

My dearest people of God,

The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; as it hath pleased the Lord so is it done; blessed be the name of the Lord. (Job chapter 1 verse 21)

I heartily thank God for everything that happens in my life because I am aware of the undeniable truth that the Gracious Master never forsakes us. He is with us in the vicissitudes of our life. His grace is sufficient for us. He hearkens the prayers of our contrite hearts, bruised souls and answers them. He wipes away our tears and never lets us stumble. When troubles assail, when dangers affright and our foes all unite, believe me, the Good Lord will provide for He proclaims, I have graven thee in my hands. (Isaiah chapter 49, verse 16). Nothing can separate us from the love of God, neither sorrow nor afflictions, because He abides with us.

I humbly acknowledge with profound gratitude and veneration, the myriad blessings and encouragement received from our beloved Shepherd Most Rev. Peter Parapullil, who is the fountain head of all graces, mercies and enlightenment. It is praise worthy to mention that the sterling efforts of our dearer than life Principal Rev.Fr.Richard A. has given new wings to this edition. His priceless suggestions, valuable guidance, technological

erudition and linguistic competence have indeed breathed life into the glossy pages of CROWN.

I am highly grateful and truly indebted to the intellectual, experienced and learned teachers of the Editorial Board

I fervently hope that you will enjoy reading this edition and continue to praise God as you see Him changing hearts and lives every day.

Truly Speaking

“When we kneel before God, He stands up for us, and when He stands up for us, no one can stand against us.”

I like this quote, because it reminds us that no matter what we face in life, we are always in God’s Hands.

The Holy Bible tells us, “If God is for me who can be against me”. Romans 8:31

I just keep trusting my Lord......

CKC……THE ABODE OF CHRIST….

Probably some twenty six years ago, in fact, it was back in 1990, when I was asked to join CKC as a P.T.I. after my retirement from the Railway. During my tenure, I tried to train students for work through acquisition of knowledge and gave them an understanding

of their deeper self through sports activities.

I would like to congratulate the Principal Rev. Father Richard A. under whose innovative guidance the teaching fraternity and students have brought CKC to the pinnacle of success.

Continue to march forward….with God's Grace!!!!

“Be what you never received but always wanted to.”

Never has there been a greater way of giving back, than teaching.

Altruistic as it is, there's a great reward lying in the fact that a boy changes to a responsible man because of the encouraging words of a teacher. It has been a sheer pleasure being here and learning mutually with the students. Thanks to Fr. Richard for giving me this golden opportunity.

SAY “NO” TO OLD AGE HOME

By giving us birth and letting us grow. They shed their blood and sweated their brow.

At every stage of life, they were there by our side.

In our victory, they rejoiced! In our defeat, they shared our grief.

We turn heartless to say, to the same old parents whom he had promised to repay; we turn them out from our heart and homes “To old age homes”.

Make a promise to keep our parents with us that is our duty. The holy Bible says……..Honor your Parents…

“IF YOU WANT”

“If you want to come first

Start from the last.

If you want to be great,

Don't start anything late.

If you want to show your love,

Be always ready to serve.

LEARN FROM EVERYTHING……

I learnt from the sun,

That light has to be spread,

The breeze taught me,

How to be cool all the time.

The trees inspired me to be colossal in giving,

I discovered serenity from water,

And the Vacuum made me understand,

How to live with nothing around.

TIME is precious…

Time is not like money

Which we can waste

Not like a picture

Which we can paste

Time is like a precious jewel

Be careful and then revel,

Because time once gone

Will never come back again.

C.K.C IS THE BEST…….

CKC is the best school I have seen so far.

This is the place from where the race to success starts.

If it is about learning

CKC is the better than the best.

It gives us such education

That helps us to pass every test.

Teachers here are intellectual

Simple and loving

They teach us the real meaning of life.

That's why we the Ckcians can touch every height.

DO YOU LOVE YOUR COUNTRY?

Do you save water?

Do you save electricity?

Do you help to keep your surroundings clean?

Do you help your fellow beings?

Do you plant a tree?

Do you fulfill your duty?

Do you save fuel?

Do you obey laws?

If you follow all these things. It means that you really love your country.

Mirror ,Mirror on the wallTell me who is the truest of all?

Now, hark what the mirror says………More than being truthful to othersOne needs to be true to oneself!

CANONIZATION OF MOTHER TERESA

Christ the King College, Jhansi cherished its bond with Mother Teresa a day after her canonisation at the Vatican City on Sunday. The college organised an 'Exhibition'. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Respected Sisters from the missionaries of Charity. The display in the exhibition included the photographs of Mother Teresa's life and her mission. Mother Teresa, spent her life in service of the destitute and the unwanted. Rev. Fr. Richard A. gave a meaningful message reflecting the humanitarian works of the Mother. He also mentioned beautifully that our life must be lived for others. He said, “We should have unconditional love for all the people of the world”.
