In approximately nine weeks the Ozaukee County Fair will observe its 158th anniversary. The major event, as in the past, will be the two days of competition for the demolition derbies. NEW FRIDAY, August 4th the competition begins at 6:30 PM and SATURDAY, August 5th the competition begins at 6 PM. (please note—WE ARE BACK TO FRIDAY AND SATURDAY .

THE RULES AND REGULATIONS HAVE CHANGED. PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED SHEETS. RULES & REGULATIONS 2017 AND THE DRIVER/PIT CREW GUIDELINES.

The competition will be conducted as it has been in previous years. We will qualify drivers both days for the Grand Finale Championship that will be held ON SATURDAY EVENING. Thus, it will be to your advantage to compete the first night, and if you fail to qualify at that time, you will still be eligible to try again on SATURDAY. There will be a restriction of 125 entries per day. However, no demolition cars or entries will be accepted into the gate after 5:30 PM Friday night and 5 PM on SATURDAY. This will be enforced...with no exceptions! Competition vehicles will be divided into separate heats. New for 2017 - compact cars and midsize cars will be combined into one heat and bonestock will have its own heat, There will be two heats that contain Compact Pickups, SUV’s and Minivans 2WD and Compact Pickups, SUV’s and Minivans 4WD. Full Size Pickups 2WD have a separate heat as well as the Full Size Pickups 4WD will have their own heat. Convertibles can also be utilized; 1977 & newer vehicles only. The Amateur Heat (14-15 year olds) will also be repeated this year. You must have written permission from a legal guardian and submit a copy of their birth certificate. They will compete in one heat only—against kids in the same age group. As a reminder, you will not be permitted to reinforce the basic structure, frame, (no hitches), body or suspension. You may modify your car mechanically as you wish.

In an effort to expedite registration, we are again assigning numbers in advance to those contestants who competed in 2016. LARGE plain numbers must be on the ROOF and door panels (REMEMBER TO PLACE THE CORRECT LETTER AFTER YOUR NUMBER TO DESIGNATE WHICH TYPE OF HEAT YOU ARE IN—for example; Bonestock 200B, Midsize Car 200M, Compact Car 200C, Compact Pickup 200CP, Compact Pickup Four Wheel Drive - 200CP4X4 , or Full Size Pickup 200P, Full Size Pickup Four Wheel Drive - 200P4x4, Minivan 200V or Minivan Four Wheel Drive - 200V4x4, Amateurs just use their number, Obviously, this is important since it will make you readily identifiable to the crowd in the grandstand and also to our announcer who can report your progress during the competition. We would like to see more numbers displayed largely on Roof Tops this year and an “X” largely printed on Drivers Door (use White if a dark colored vehicle and Black if a light colored vehicle. Your number for the 2017 competition is ________.

For your convenience, I am enclosing a registration form. Please fill the form out entirely (include car/truck number and letter) and enclose your check payable to GRAND MOTOR CRASH, INC. and mail to the address indicated above NO LATER THAN 7-20-17. To receive a confirmation of your desired date of competition and heat number, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope. The registration fee is $50.00 if paid by 7/20/17, entries received after 7/20 will be charged $60.00 to enter. Members of your pit crew will be charged $15.00, which as you know provides them with insurance coverage while they are working in the pits.

It would be in your best interest to haul your vehicles to the fairgrounds as per state traffic laws. You will be ticketed at the gate if you are not obeying the law. The police will not allow vehicles to be driven to the grounds. See the traffic route listed on the Guidelines sheet attached.We are looking forward to seeing you again in 2017 and renewing those pleasant associations which have been developed over the past 52 years. 2017 DRIVER & PIT CREW GUIDELINES

Trailers and personal vehicles will be parked just outside the previous pit area. Please do not bring vehicles that are not needed for that day.

1. Auto buyers will be available for buying demo cars BEFORE the event. Titles and/or VIN # must be presented to buyer if you wish to sell your car. Salvage yard must be registered with Grand Motor Crash, Inc.

2. All glass (including tail lights) must be removed from the car before it is brought onto the fairgrounds. Glass cannot be rolled down into doors, it must be removed completely.

3. All Flammable cloth/leather/vinyl/carpet must be removed from car/truck interiors and trunks.4. No wood, paper, tires, car parts will not be permitted as reinforcements.5. Concrete is not allowed in any vehicles. NO WHEEL WEIGHTS ALLOWED!!!!6. Stock gasoline tanks must be removed before entering the fairgrounds.7. No Antifreeze allowed. 8. Gates will be locked each night at 12:00 Midnight and will again open at 7:00 AM the following day.

Demo cars cannot be removed from pit area after 11:00 PM. Trespassers will be arrested, forfeit prize money and be excluded from competition.

9. Entrance will NOT be permitted through check-in infield registration gate for any reason during the demo derby. Drivers and Pit Crew are not allowed in pits overnight.

10. Grand Prize to Champion 1st place trophy and prize money of $700. Trophies to 2nd 3rd place drivers and prize money of $600.00 and $500.00. One and done specialized heats the driver awarded 1st place $125.00 prize money (if more than 5 in heat prize money increases to $150.00) Prize money is also awarded for the Best Paint job, Best Hit and Best Showmanship. The use of vulgar or obscene messages as part of your cars decoration will not be permitted.

12. Do not fly American Flags on your vehicles during competition.13. You must be 18 years of age, or 16 with the notarized approval of parent/legal guardian. 14 and 15

year olds are permitted in one heat only with notarized approval of parent/legal guardian and copy of birth certificate.

14. In cooperation with all parties involved, the following traffic route will be followed when bringing demo cars to the park.

15. TRAFFIC ROUTE : Haul your vehicle to the grounds. Demo cars will enter the park Northbound on Washington Avenue. If you are coming from the North use Hwy. I (Sheboygan Rd.) to Washington Ave. and then North to Gate One. To further assist you, there will be no parking on the East Side of Washington Ave. from Sheboygan Road to Gate One. A traffic officer will be at that intersection to assist with traffic. Check in for demo drivers begins at 2 PM FRIDAY at the far backside of infield—SATURDAY – 2PM. Entrance into the park must be completed by 5:30 PM FRIDAY night and 5:00PM SATURDAY. You will not be allowed to enter after these times. No exceptions.

16. If you are driving more than one demo vehicle, please use the SAME NUMBER and place the correct letter behind EACH CAR NUMBER. Make copies of registration form first, then fill them out with all of your demo numbers. For example; if you have a compact car and your number is 4, put 4C on the form, if you also have a midsize car place 4M on the form, All vehicles should have an

“X” on driver’s door (intentional driver door hits are disqualification) and number on the roof of the car to make them more identifiable by the audience, announcer and judges.

I further agree to remove all glass from the vehicles to be used in the competition before entry into the Firemen’s Park. This includes all headlights, taillights, mirrors, windshields, side, rear and vent windows. I also understand it is the responsibility of the driver and/or owner to remove the vehicle and all parts and equipment from the premises immediately after the event. I also understand that I am not allowed in the pit area overnight after the demolition derby, but I may enter the pit area again the following day at 7:00 AM.
