In the start of Eminem’s music video ‘No Love’ we hear the song playing at a very slow pace in the background of a kid getting dodgeball’s thrown at him by three bullies; the shots in the beginning scene are in slow motion and the transition pace is very slow. The picture on the left shows the pain and injuries the main kid in the music video went through after the dodgeball encounter. After dodgeball, we get a medium shot of the main kid sitting in the changing room on his own getting changed. The screen turns to a black and white effect and the three older bullies come in and start pushing him around. The black and white effect implies that the main kid is feeling sad and hurt from the abuse that he is getting from these bullies and he feels like he has no power to stop them. Three part shot takes place of the kid arriving at home after school, music goes back to a slower pace as his parents are looking at his bruises from the bullies. Before the mum comes into the shot, there is a medium 2 part shot of the dad crouching and showing his son some fighting techniques to use against the bullies. Video cuts to a long shot of the kid’s room with him sitting on a bean bag listening to music. On the walls we can see posters of Eminem and Lil Wayne. From this we can interpret that this kid looks up to these artists as role models; from the poster also we can also tell that this kid listens to rap music, the music seems to take his mind away from the abuse he gets at school.

The artists in the music video (Eminem & Lil Wayne) are wearing stereotypical rapper clothes; such as hoodies, baggy trousers, oversized t-shirts and high tops/trainers. The main kid in the music video is wearing the same style clothing, so we can tell from this that he is trying to copy the artists image/style.

In the final scene of the music video, the main kid has changed the style of his hair to dreads which are similar to Lil Wayne’s hairstyle. But we can also interpret from this that the change of his hairstyle means that he has decided to fight back against the bullies and he looks more aggressive, whereas when he had his normal afro hair he looked more innocent.
